Amen brother
We are also given a possession. It is a place where God has put all of His children according to his divine plan for each of us. God's commandments to Israel then are in perfect step with how he wants us to cling to our possession.
but we are no longer citizens here on earth and our possession is in Heaven a big fat Yes or no,
Philippians 3:20 But our homeland is in heaven, where our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, is; and we are looking forward to his return from there

We are in the world but not of it. We have been given a commission to stand where God has placed us while we are still alive on this earth. Yes we surely do have a possession on this earth. It's our job as believers in Christ. We are to stand where we are placed.
Ephesians 6:13 (KJV)
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
There is reason we are to have a Spiritual armor, and the children of Israel had physical armor to conquer there inheritance given by God.

Compare this concept with a vinedresser or one that waters and plants the seed, and then God gives the increase. We have a job to do, a place to possess, which is a God given task.
God Bless.

And before Christ, as Christ showed they never could of themselves ever be perfect in and of themselves, tat they need Christ, the way the truth and the life, to stop flesh works that never pleased God and walk by Faith in God and God will do whatever works are needed through the one's that believe God. Which I believe you do believe God. So is it possible that our own flesh could get in the way, and be a do gooder, others being pleased, by what they see us doing and give us rewards of pats on the back and recognition comes to us as if we are pleasing God, when just maybe we are not
I am not sure about that. Just this morning on the way to work this verse popped up: "I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship" and I thought, why would Paul used mercy instead of grace here? And I thought how could we offer our bodies as living sacrifices if we are not clean? If our cleaniness is always by His blood, then the living sacrifices are not our bodies, but Christ over and over again. But Paul said our bodies. Paul also said: the mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace. It scares me. Yeshua (I just have His name re-confirmed in another thread) said: you are well, sin no more that nothing worse may happen to you. He also said: if you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another counselor to be with you forever - the spirit of truth. If we think are saved and yet go on sinning and believe we will never be perfectly sin free, how could we ever have the spirit of truth?
May be I'm just confused between body and flesh.

Note: This is not hijacking the thread. When I get home tonight I am going to present how and why these scriptures pertain to keeping Torah. If you would reframe from commenting a little while, you can fully attack me tonight.

69 Weeks 29
When will they take place, and what is the time frame? We are told to start counting time after a decree to restore Jerusalem was sent out, and that it would be during a time of trouble.
There were four restoration decrees granted by the Medo- Persian Empire, but almost 100 years after Gabriel spoke to Daniel, a special decree was granted by Artaxerxes I to Nehemiah in 445-444BC. This is the ONLY decree recorded in the Bible that gave the Jews permission to “restore Jerusalem and rebuild its walls.” Since Scripture relates to Scripture, we should start counting time from that biblical decree.
Just as Daniel predicted, Nehemiah had a terrible time wall- building.1 The people living around Jerusalem tried to stop him every way they could (Neh 4:1-23). They even tried to get the government to come down on him, just like the ungodly and pseudo-Christians come down on true Christians today. The Messiah is Jesus, of course, and He was crucified in 32- 34AD. He didn’t die for Himself, but for the sins of the whole world (1John 2:2) But are those 69 weeks of literal days or are they weeks of years? If they are years, we have 69 x 7 or 483 years.
The Lord usually spoke to His prophets in a language they understood. Daniel was a Jew, probably of the royal family (2Ki 20:18). Since our history is recorded in solar years of 365.24 days, we need to convert those 483 Old Testament prophetic years of 360 days into solar years to fit our historic record:
O.T. prophetic years 483 x .9857 = 476 solar years.
Artaxerxes’ decree, 444BC + 476 years = 32AD, the cross right to the year!
1 The whole book of Nehemiah is about events following the Artaxerxes I decree. Furthermore, the events recorded in Nehemiah perfectly match Daniel’s prophecy of them. The dating of this decree is fairly firm at 445-444BC. Though there were four decrees granted by the Medo-Persians for the return of the Jews to Israel, since this is the only decree granting authority to rebuild the walls, we should start our 69 week count-down with this decree.

Ok Back to O.P.

1 Timothy 1:8

But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; 9Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; 11According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

So the Law stands upheld until Christ returns matthew 18:5 & 2 Peter 3:10 fullfillment. It is to edify those that do not understand there disobedience towards God i belive.

Someone who has faith in Christ fullfills all thee Law with Love, the same Love Jesus taught us. The fullfillment of the commandment is Love.

Romans 13:10 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 9For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Anyone have anything to add please share :)

God bless

The Law has a purpose still, for the lawless and disobedient,1 Timothy explains this clearly in verse 8-11.

Those in Christ Jesus, are under the law of Faith.

Romans 3:27 Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith.
If you came to Christ ,you are no longer under that condemnation as Israel was when they had the letter, Because this is the new covanent , The old convicts us just as it condemed Israel, that we need salvation and without the new ,one could never attain the forgivness that is in Christ Jesus only. through the law comes thee knowledge of sin. But those that walk in the spirit and follow Christ will live there lives according to the spirit and not the flesh.

Do we fail from time to time yes, and knowing that we fail the law that condemed is there as a reminder, to keep our eyes focus on the Lord and follow him. Because the truth of the matter is if we don't follow Christ we are condemed. We have Grace & forgivness of sin , but we should always keep our eyes on Jesus and pick up our cross and follow him.

Just as gill's commentary is on this:

to sinners:

To sinners it is useful for the knowledge of sin, to convince of it, and bring them to a sense of it, and concern for it, which is effectually done, when the Spirit of God sets in with it, or brings this commandment home to the heart; and if it has not this use, it is sometimes a means of restraining men from sin, which is the use of civil laws among men; and if it has not this, it is of use however to accuse men rightly of sin, and to pronounce justly guilty before God for it, to curse them as they deserve it, and to sentence to condemnation and death:

To Belivers:

And to believers it is of use, though they are not under it as in the hands of Moses, and as a covenant of works, and are freed from its curse and condemnation, and under no obligation to seek for life and righteousness by it; to them it is of use, to point out to them what is the will of God, and what should be done, and not done; and it is a rule of walk and conversation to them, as in the hands of Christ; and is as a glass to them to behold their own deformity, the impurity of their nature, the plague of their own hearts, and the imperfection of their obedience; by which they see the insufficiency of their own righteousness, how far they are from perfection, and what carnal creatures they are, when compared with this law: and as this serves to put them out of conceit with themselves, so it tends to make Christ and his righteousness more lovely and valuable in their esteem; who has wrought out a righteousness as broad and as long as the law is, and by which it is magnified and made honourable, and has delivered them from its curse and condemnation.

And this law is good as it is holy, in its author, nature, and use; and as it is just, requiring just things, and doing that which is just, by acquitting those who are interested in Christ's righteousness, and in condemning those that have no righteousness; and as it is a spiritual and perfect law, which reaches the spirit and soul of man, and is concerned with inward thoughts and motions, as well as outward actions; and especially the end of it, the fulfilling end of it is good, which is Jesus Christ, who was made under it, came to fulfil it, and has answered all the demands of it: so that it must be good, and which cannot be denied,

if a man use it lawfully; for if it is used in order to obtain life, righteousness, and salvation by the works of it, or by obedience to it, it is used unlawfully: for the law does not give life, nor can righteousness come by it; nor are, or can men be saved by the works of it; to use the law for such purposes, is to abuse it, as the false teachers did, and make that which is good in itself, and in its proper use, to do what is evil; namely, to obscure and frustrate the grace of God, and make null and void the sufferings and death of Christ. A lawful use of the law is to obey it, as in the hands of Christ, the King of saints, and lawgiver in his church, from a principle of love to him, in the exercise of faith on him, without any mercenary selfish views, without trusting to, or depending on, what is done in obedience to it, but with a view to the glory of God, to testify our subjection to Christ, and our gratitude to him for favours received from him.

God bless

Wow!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks I understand the difference, and see I do not by Christ have a license to sin, rather a license in the ability to obey by the Spirit of God not flesh
I agree with this.

No. My church went to jerusalem on a trip. SOme people were in a market in town, There they saw a model of the old temple. One of the guys asked the jew if he was excited about the new temple which would be built and the city one day being restored.

The guy (who knew they were Christian) said he was amazed. How could a Christian believe the city and temple would rebuilt. My brother in law said, Because it says so in daniel. did he not know this? the guy said the book of daniel is outlawed. They are not even aloud to read it.
