I didn't say that women who wear earrings cannot come to church. I said that immodest apparel puts a stumbling-block in the path of your Christian brothers and sisters.

I don't believe the Bible mentions makeup. I do believe that it mentions "costly array" or expensive wear. I think we should be more concerned about paying alot of money for what we wear.

I understand what you are saying, you are talkin about ppl who dress revealingly to seek attention, any attention, maybe someone who goes to extremes, and yes, in this case I can agree, if you go out half naked, youll get attention all right, and prolly not the kind you need.

Lip gloss is dangerous. I know I am not the only man who has a problem when women wear lip gloss. Sounds silly to some, I know, but it is the truth.

Jeremiah 4:30
Translate, And thou, O plundered one, what effectest thou, that "thou clothest thyself with" scarlet, that "thou deckest" thyself "with ornaments of gold," that thou enlargest thine eyes with antimony (2 Kings 9:30 note)? "In vain" dost thou beautify thyself; "thy lovers" despise" thee, they" seek "thy life." Jerusalem is represented as a woman who puts on her best attire to gain favor in the eyes of her lovers, but in vain.

Revelation 17:4
The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries.

4This same John's garments were made of camel's hair, and he wore a leather girdle about his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey.

He'd most likely be killed if he tried to go to church in our days.

To be honest, many women who wear makeup are acting out in a Jezebel spirit. Control/manipulation... to entice men or invoke jealousy in other women. There are many excuses, but I do not believe women should adorn themselves with make-up, jewelry, immodest clothing as it sets a stumbling block for their Christian brothers.
If you look at my avatar you will see that i do wear makeup. Now, I agree that a woman should never use her physical features to attract men. That sounds like a prostitute, but I also don't know of one man that gets turned on because of a womans lipstick and eyeliner.....btw, most women wear makeup for themselves. not for men.

you also may think lipgloss is evil but dry and cracked lips are painful

I don't expect you to fully understand how something as small as certain types of lip gloss and lipstick can throw a stumbling block for men, but it can and does for many. I did not say it was evil, but it is dangerous.

really.
How ironic for you to state that someone else needs to learn self control. First get the beam out of your own eye.

How valuable is one soul?

Is it truly worth wearing something that might cause someone to stumble and lust after you? My honest question to you, is it worth it?

i mean if someone has an issue with lip gloss...thats really something personal they need help with. I mean women the world over shouldnt be concerned with whether something as innocent as lip gloss. people aren;t mind readers, there is no way for anyone to always what will and wont cause someone to stumble. I mean seriously, 9 times out of 10 i think that is a terrible argument.

My original argument is not centered on lip gloss, but on modest dress and appearance. Where is the argument against dressing modestly?
