Yes, Adam and I can tell you all why I think this.
When Esau gave up his birthright for flesh...I love the KJV for revelation...his name was changed to Edom. If you look at the Hebrew for Edom...it goes back to the root of Adam..It's all about the name changes to see the revelation.
Adam despised his birthright as a Son of God. He knew what he was doing when he took the fruit. Eve was deceived. One reason why the NT says women should have power over her head because of the angels. I think it is fallen angels in this case but I can't produce evidence. Haven't studied it either...not yet.
Now, Jacobs name is changed to Israel after he wrestles with the angel of God. Jesus? Preincarnate Son? I think so. His attitude was he would not let go of God unless he was blessed. Israel translates to he who rules as God.
I agree Randonmon with your post and thank you for your study.
It does irritate me everytime I read men say that Eve was deceived but doesn't mention what Adam did. Adams sin was greater.
Esau should of known that the blessing which comes down from the fathers in Jewry, is actually from the Spirit of God. But, he thought less of it than Jacob.
We are sons of God too...are we pursuing our Sonship? Or letting flesh rule.
Not trying to push perfectionism...but maturity as Sons of God is or should be our goal. We are Sons now...we don't know yet what we will have when we come before our King. But, we can get ready now.
