First off i am going to simply narrow down the why some/many men say these things..
1)many in my opinion fear any woman having any authority/feminism or anything that could be seen as feminism..even in the church and use the scriptures that are always pointed to by Paul about this very subject to at least keep what they see as feminism out of the church. When there are other scriptures where Paul sends his regards to women who are being used by God and who he sees as partners in ministry(Priscilla, and others..do not remember them all)
2) If you are asking some pentecostal, all presbyterians and all southern baptists this, do not be surprised when they say no!
3)Womens rights was very much an issue recently..and perhaps you need to listen to God before you worry about what some dude says. I am not saying this to stir up trouble as i am sure at least one who likes to single me out for 'being a stumblingblock' as it was said..but i merely believe there is room for She in Shepard.

May i encourage you to hear what the other side says and why they say it..The United Methodists,Free Methodists,Wesleyans, Foursquare and other churches have accepted, validated, and allowed women to be in Pastoral ministry so my suggestion to you is if you still believe that you are to be a woman pastor to check out on of these denominations. And i personally thank God for my associate pastor at my church who happens to be a female and for her going against the status quo. And not worrying about the many who will point to two or three scriptures repeatedly as if they were the only ones in the bible. That said, you do what you feel God is telling you..trust that you hear from God. His approval is more important than man's approval anyways at the end of the day.
that's so trute Raul a woman can't take over unless God tells you other wise,

Sounds like you're not concerned with what scripture says, so much as what it can say.
What do you mean trying?
Green, please dont take what i say out of context then run with it.
It becomes close to slander. If you want to make a comment please do.
If you want to question me thats fine also.
ive almost always said opinion in contrast to those who say their words are led by the Spirit
Here's the best way to take things in context: Don't say you can understand the Spirit speaking into one's life.

That will be a perilous 'look,' for you, I, nobody, is God but God and, He wrote the laws of man.upon the tablets of mans' heart, and, all those who take Him on now ARE led with the mind of Christ . Read 1 Cor. 2 for the power of the 'Spirit and power' to Paul and to all who understand the great unchanging Love of God, for Truthful understanding shewed by faith, and, know, too, that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (wisdom). :)

OFM what is a deacon? A table server? A person that serves without having to say ANYTHING! A deacon can be the gardener of the church, he/she can be the tea-girl, with the title of deacon. but the DEACON IN GOD'S church has to have the secret of the faith on a pure conscience! How many here knows what is the secret of the faith? And how many here has a clean conscience to house that secret?

So let us see the CV's for deacons right here in this thread? Which of you qualify with these guidelines for deacons?

Do you have a clean conscience?
Do you even know what is the secret of the Faith... Share with us the secret if you do know!

Hi there.

I am curious as to which secret you are referring to?

There are many secrets of faith. But I am truthfully curious as to which one you might be referring to. Especially if I've never heard it before, which is more than possible and quite probable.
Please send me a private message if you do not wish to openly declare it. I understand God's pearls are precious.

"some have been called as Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers and Evangelists" . Gods way of building a church leadership team is 5 fold, not just a Pastor on his/her own. When Gods structure is in place it is extremely strong. I would just clarify in prayer which one of the 5 God is calling you to. God appoints these positions, not man or woman. It is God who says who you are. Personally speaking I think many times women become Pastors because they have a sense God is calling them to some kind of leadership but have no understand of Gods structure. I personally think men are called more to be a Pastor as its about having the Father's heart. Women are more called to the other 4 callings.

I suppose adultery should be okay then? After all that is kind of a "bible times" thing.

I find it sad and unfortunate that you think you know better than God. Your argument is that God doesn't know how to deal with the 21st century, therefor we do.

To proclaim that you know better than an omniscient being, what audacity!
You use the same tactic to silence anyone who does not adhere to your soteriology..
these are the ways people like you do, either say 'God bless you', don't touch God's anointed(don't talk about their pastor or favorite preacher), or who are you to question God, do you think you know better than God..as a way to silence others because this is your best tactic to 'shut them up in Jesus name'..yes you have been called out

There are troublemakers on here sweet spiritgirl, who i refuse to address by name anymore..who repeatedly say things to injure, accuse and stir up trouble..you will find them out if you have not already..just ignore them, pray to God..there are resources, churches, and ministries that validate and defend women pastoring..as for these others, forget about convincing them..you merely waste your time..brush the dust off your feet and move on..

Reason I ask,,cause its always been upon my heart to be a pastor...was even thinking of going for it...yet when I tell people of my desire they laugh like Im a fool. When you have a desire from God..only you will feel it not any man..If there not called.
You can bee 100% sure that God did not give you the desire to become a pastor, God never contradicts his own word (1 Timothy 2:12). And by the way, be carefull when you say 'God has said', in Deuteronomy 18:20 God told the Israelites to PUT TO DEATH anyone who spoke on behalf of him wrongly.

Yeah, you could probably be a pastor. All you have to do is take a large scissors and cut out the parts that discuss women leading the church.

Once you have a noticeably trimmer Bible, you're all set.

Women are not inferiour to men. That's a myth.

It is in the women's own interest - being weaker in bodily strength - to submit to men which shows that those women are cleverer than men in spirit.

Justice and truth rules everywhere and makes no difference between women an men!

Thus: Women can do everything that men can do and if not in body then in spirit! And the Holy Spirit has no gender, too.

It's not a matter of what women can do or not do, it is a matter of what God has commanded and what pleases Him. It is a matter of either obeying God in humility or rebel against Him in pride and be deceived. Paul has already been clear on the matter. We all have the instruction in blueprint.

Some of us are greater than Paul!
