Who believes refraining from sin is works salvation?

for 1. John said a man born of God can not do it

second, it’s only works salvation if you are doing it to earn or maintain (not lose) salvation
There are many on these forums who claim that attempting to not sin constitutes a works for salvation attempt. I on the other hand believe most of these individuals who make such a claim, simply do not want to leave their sins.

Who can cease from sin? If we say we have no sin we decieve ourselves,

in my view a person who claims they have or can cease from all sin is decieved.
I agree that we currently cannot totally cease from sin, but we are to sacrifice our carnal inclinations so that we may be acceptable to God (Romans 12:1). And like I claimed to you in my previous post, many here simply do not want to refrain from their love for this world, and use the excuse that to attempt to refrain from sinning is trying to do works for salvation.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Why not rely on God to help you, not continually try to do it of your own power?

what happen to the rest God promised,

I am confused why some think God has given us rest, then tells us to start working hard again?
Prior to the Lord's sacrifice of Himself on the cross, I was powerless to refrain from my bondage to sinning. After His sacrifice on the cross, I am now no longer bound by sin to continue sinning (should I so choose of my own free will). So I will either choose not to leave my sinning, and thus remain in bondage to my sins, being conformed to this world, or I will choose to leave my sinning, thereby being transformed by the renewing of my mind.

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Amen

and what is the mark?

the mark God set is perfection,

and we have all failed to miss this mark of perfect love,

for all have sinned and fall short
All have missed and fall short, but that is not an excuse to cease trying. We are to continue trying to hit the mark and overcome our lower nature. Some here take the scripture you posted, among others out of context, claiming them to mean something like: Don't worry, It's OK that you continue sinning, because you cannot help it; you're saved anyway. This sort of perspective is wrong.

This is again virtue signalling and Paul was also accused by what your saying about those who understand grace is not licence but freedom . Liberty in Christ ,which legalists and the proud turn this message into a message of lasciviousness . Galatians reveals this problem that the legalists had with the message of grace.

I been on this forum for quite a few years, never heard one say those who are attempting to not sin ALONE (without taking into account anything else they say) constitutes a work salvation, and maybe one Or two has slipped by my Seeing, but if many did, it would be something that would be seen by everyone

Your judging people. You should refrain from that.

I do it the wat Jesus did, by seeking to love others, seeking after the things of the spirit

if your going out trying to sacrifice your flesh all the time, maybe that’s your problem

no one is excusing sin, you have listened to to many people who tell you anyone who stands on Grace is excusing their sin.

you want to help a person with their sin issue? Help them to get healed first, and your not going to do that by judging them. Even Jesus said he did not come to judge, he came to save, if a person is not saved, there will be no healing

I don't know what do you mean by the law of love?

If you love the poor and help them to buy food, do you consider as work or not?
If you love Jesus and work to spread the gospel is that not work?

Or you believe love neighbor mean doing nothing for them, love Jesus mean doing nothing for Him.

Love Jesus mean keep sining never try to refrain sin?

I don't know what do you mean by the law of love?

?
that is quite apparent in your posts. And I think explains a lot

What did Jesus say that if we did these two things, we would fulfill the law

They don't want to sin but they do.
Unsave don't care about sin and they do.
So save become better and better
Unsave never better.

But both are do sin
Yes,one Is justified but the other Is not. After JESUS paid the price for sin taking our place dying on a cross and satisfying the demand of the law HE made a way for all who believe In HIM to be saved so after the price was paid the Issue now Is faith and not sin.

GOD IS a SPIRIT and those who worship HIM MUST worship HIM In Spirit and In truth.

The debate on OSAS will continue till the Lord returns . I believe the devil cannot separate us from God ,but works hard at convincing us we can separate ourselves. I believe eternal security IS the Gospel . It is good news . Not probation .

While many believe that refraining from continuing to sin as doing works to attain salvation; in reality refraining from continuing to sin is to refrain from doing evil works. You are not doing any works whatsoever by refraining to do evil works.
However, by refraining to continue sinning, which is doing evil works, you are then commencing to overcome your sins, by which reason the Lord will then be more readily available to perform good works through you.
Seeking and striving to resist sin.. Seeking or striving to do good.. Seeking and striving to pray or read the Bible or share the Gospel is not the point..

The point is does a person believe that doing the above things earn for them eternity with God? If so then they are fallen away from what saves them and they have embraced a works salvation belief that does not save..

So you believe Christian must refrain from sin but you don't believe preaching refrain from sin is work salvation.

Basically you agree preaching refrain from sin, but you not agree that preaching refrain from sin mean work salvation, am I correct?

The issue is faith not sin

Some people believe as long as you have faith your sin forgiven mean he is free to make sin.
I have a friend, he want to make his weeding party look good to make his mom happy, about 30'years ago in Indonesia weeding party very costly because they invite a lot of people, some invite 300, the rich may 2000, he doesn't have money so he use credit card and plan not to pay.
I tell him, that is stealing. He said, salvation not by work, Jesus die for our sin.

Yes Jesus die for our sin, but I believe He only forgive us when we repent, not plan to sin.
