Relying strictly on the written code and not on the guidance of the Spirit can make the understanding of no use whatsoever.

1st John 2:1

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous"

1st Timothy 2:5

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"

Romans 4:2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” 4 Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. 5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works.

Galatians 2:16 - knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

Philippians 3:9 - and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith.

THERE is a faith of the mouth, people say they believe But Don't do what GOD says Nor give up their sins, NOR obey WHAT HIS WORD says, NOR EVEN WANT TO GIVE UP THEIR SINS THAT YESUAH DIED FOR, AND HATES,
2 Peter 2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; = {SINS}
2:13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, [as] they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots [they are] and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
2:14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam [the son] of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

We are given a code of law that is more accurate than the written code, for we know that anything not in the spirit of the Lord is not of God and when we only have the written code it would not tell us that. Christ showed us that when we are told of the good Samaritan.

But the written code is of God, and what is of God is holy and good.

While you are free to write what you like, what you answered was not the subject at hand. You proposed something and were asked at least twice to supply the verses. This you did not - for what ever reason. I just did it for you. If a young and inexperienced Christian ass you for the scriptures, why tell him to study the Priesthood? Just give him your scriptures - unless you can't. That is another, and more serious matter.

But anyway, returning to what you said above, I will answer. Our Lord Jesus chose twelve men to be His closest companions - His disciples. Peter seemed to be chief among them. Peter, in Matthew 16 declares Christ and our Lord Jesus confirms what Peter said by telling him that he had received this information from God. Peter subsequently uses a sword when Christ had given him a ministry of reconciliation, Peter denied Him thrice, Peter ran away, Peter wanted to return to his old profession, Peter did not want to go the the house of Cornelius and Peter had to be rebuked by Paul for misrepresenting the gospel in Galatians Chapter 1 and 2.

In the light of your statement above, how is it that Peter was able to continue with our Lord? It was certainly not by his WORKS. They were abominable.

Sadly . Some Christians also :
Only past sins forgiven by Jesus
Muslim murder infidel for salvation
Catholic work in the sense of religious ritual for salvation

Christian, salvation by believe in Jesus, produce God work.

John 15
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Sadly some Christian believe he can do what ever he want, like murder, stealing etc and still save because salvation not by work.

Yes not by work, but bear fruit of good and loving work

Sometimes works salvation is a little more indirect.

1) Justification
2) Sanctification
3) Glorification

1) Deliverance from Egypt
2) Wilderness proving
3) Promised Land

1) Faith *Only* in Messiah

2) Our Work/Effort to obey commands built on foundation of Messiah; (Training/Discerning good from evil) = Fruit that proves (1) faith

3) Reward (the kingdom) based on our works

-----

There were many who were initially saved from Egypt who still died in the wilderness never receiving the kingdom that was promised to them.

Likewise there are many who were initially saved and welcomed into the Messiah's church whose light will be taken from them and who won't see the kingdom because their works aren't found righteous.

Do you accept Paul's teachings ?
Indeed.

Romans 2:5-16 [brackets mine]

But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

7 To them who by patient continuance in well-doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God.

12 For as many as have sinned without [outside the] law shall also perish without [outside the] law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another)

16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

In deed.
