"Wives, subject yourselves to your husbands".. but "husbands love your wives as Christ loves His church." Is this the law of the bible or principles of men from 2000 years ago, was it intended for the modern times or was for its time? If it was a law then where is the law, if it were a principle is it authoritative, and if so according to whom? It's so easy to read the bible and take things out of context without using another aid of reference besides the bible.
There is a difference between the wife volunteering to be submissive and the husband forcing submission on her. In the first situation the woman is given the freedom to choose but in the second situation she is not. We live in 2015 now and if the husband thinks he needs to be in control is a sign of an insecure personality. It is true that a husband whose position is low in society (perhaps a low paid job requiring little skills and responsibility) will have little control of many things in his life, so perhaps him being a Christian and reading 'wives, subject yourselves to your husbands' is the only time such men who need to have such control over their wives and over the household to feel better about themselves will enjoy the control and submission. Church essentially bestows upon men authority that society otherwise may not. I wonder just why society would not bestow such authority on men, hmm maybe it's because they're not educated, not responsible, oh and we live in the year 2015 where most of the free world are free.

I've gotten the gasp and eye roll from pretty much every person I have this conversation with (Christian or not) when I say I am a submissive wife to my Master (husband). The truth is I have always had a submissive type of personality and spirit. I do my best everyday to submit to God and my Husband.
This means, I wake up and do my daily devotional and pray, I then kiss Master awake and make food while He chooses our clothes for the day. I sometimes will draw Him a shower then clean the house. It is these things, but mostly it is about listening to Him if He tells me no for something I trust that He has my best interest in mind. This is a rare occurrence though. Being a submissive wife to me is also not arguing withMaster if iI don't like something. There are times where He will for instance leave clothes about the house instead of putting them in the basket, instead of arguing I simply ask "I know you work a lot to give me and us a good life and home and you're tired at night but next time can you please put your clothes in the basket?" And He apologizes and picks up His own mess.
It is about trust, love and honesty. I don't understand why some people think that women being this way is somehow wrong.
