whether someone's a troll or sincere, it's still good practice.

Hi. I am a Christian, and I'm assuming everyone reading this is as well, or seeking Christian advice. I am writing this to express both my sadness and anger of people's lack of understanding and cruelty toward the LGBT community.
Welcome to the site Julia. It's definitely true that many christians aren't Christlike in how they treat LGBT folks. However, going along with the world isn't Christlike either.. it's enabling and accommodating the world. If you don't bring God's truth -and- God's love then you aren't helping. Truth without love or love without truth, neither brings the world closer to God.

Does the Bible say homosexuality is wrong? Yes. I'm not denying that AT ALL.
if you really accept that, then it's strange for you to say the supreme courts' decision was a beautiful thing.

I am so sick of people being hateful towards people who make their decisions THAT DO NOT AFFECT ANYONE BUT THEM.
It does affect other people, we live in a society, not a vacuum. Our lives effect eachother in innumerable ways, directly and indirectly.

The LGBT issue is used by spiritual forces to fight against the way God develops humans through the genders he designed. God teaches us and grows us spiritually, through various kinds of healthy human relationships.

God did not make us to have a 'female' soul in a 'male' body or to have uncontrollable sexual urges that go against biological design. These are spiritual issues, involving spiritual wounds, bondage, and curses, that cause spiritual torment. God has grace and mercy for us so that we can overcome these things in freedom and healing, not so that we can create new labels and become defined by them. I agree hate isn't a good response, but blind acceptance is just as wrong.

I am not saying all Christian people do this, but at my high school, there has been severe bullying by people who use their religion as an excuse to torment a homosexual guy at my school. And I'm tired of it.
what you are seeing is a physical manifestation of an ongoing spiritual war. if you really want to know what's happening and what to do about it, you need to get your perspective from the holy spirit... not from the world.

There are so many worse things that happen than someone identifying themselves as homosexual.
well, that's what the world tells you. but for the person who is actually trying to -fight- a demonic enemy pushing homosexuality on them, it is a very difficult experience, and both the world and the church do a very poor job of helping that person. The world says they can't beat it and should just give up and attempt to 'redefine' themselves. This makes them further disconnected from the truth of God and his purpose for designing male and female gender. Their identity as 'whateversexual' or 'transwhatever' starts to compete with their identity as a -spirit being- created in the -image of god- and meant to live intimately in communion with God, sharing the power of God, the passion of God, the perspective of God.

That is what God designed us for. All of the enemy's strategy is to prevent us from getting closer to God and to set up barriers and obstacles between us and that. False identities created by the 'wisdom of man' pale in comparison with the identity God destined us for, and the power that flow through that identity.

Part of loving these people means telling them the truth: there is something better for them, than what they think they are, and what they think they want.

The part I liked best about this video was all the Christian students walking out! Such courage in the face of lies and persecution.

And the part that is missing with his faulty exegesis is that all his other examples have cultural context. They are an accurate assessment of God's people 4000 or 2000 years ago.

I read a very interesting book a few years back, called "Slaves, Women and Homosexuals" by William Webb. He uses slavery as a neutral example, to show how God progressively moved people away from slavery, without compromising the gospel message. On the other end, is the unchanging laws against homosexual behaviour, which are laws even today. He then compares that to the middle example of women, and God moving women forward in ministry and personhood, and how Israel was always ahead of the surrounding cultures in this matter. (See Numbers 27 and the daughters of Zelophehad!)
Wow. How did I miss that the first time? Yes, good on them for walking out. I'll have to check out that book. It sounds very interesting. Cheers, Angela.

I still don't know if she was a troll. She could have been the type of teen raised in full adoration of everything she says or does, so she thought she could learn us better. And then she got the first surprise of her life. Skip we weren't clinging to her every word. We weren't even impressed by her words. They were laughable.

If she is that teen, I hope she reevaluates the junk her family and school have been filling her up with so she can function in the world.

Perhaps I should have preambled that video explaining who Dan Savage is. He is an atheist, homosexual, who pushes a very aggressive homosexual agenda. Somehow this school district thought it would be a good idea to invite him to speak on bullying. The irony of course being that HE is one of the biggest bullies out there. I didn't watch this whole vid, but I've seen the whole thing before and he calls the Christian teens who walk out of his hate speech a VERY derogatory name.

My point was that, at least today, the vast majority of the harassment and bullying is done BY those pushing homosexuality TOWARD Christians.

Exactly, brother. He seems like a horrible man. I'm not surprised their tolerance only works one way and that they've taken the term hostage and have had their plastic surgeons mutilate it to create something of their own debased desires.

It's arrogant to live in a world where you only accept people who believe the same exact thing as you.
I'm arrogant. So what? Too bad she's banned, I would have liked to hear her response to "so what"?

The words, "Sewage Filth" pretty well describe this species of gutter-crawling reptile.

I've been around enough of this type of person to tell you what would have come next. Not the words the person would say, but it pretty much comes down to "You're a Christian. You're not supposed to be arrogant. You're supposed to be our door mat... errr, I mean, tolerant."

(Yo, though! Got to ask, how many people could have translated it into perfect Midlantic Stateism for ya? Don't my words come with the perfect accent and 'tude of someone who grew up in Jersey or Joisey? lol)

And yet, you had to get that next beating in anyway. Go figure.
Lynn, the CC mods banned the op for good reason. I'm not going to argue with you about their decision to do so even though you seem to be at odds with me about it.

Whatever your beef with me, I understand you're going through a rough time in your life and my heart goes out to you. I was joking around with you but you're taking offense with it. You continuously post light-hearted and often sarcastic messages throughout the forums so I don't understand why you have a problem with me joking with you.

Nevertheless, I hope all is well with you and am continuing to pray for you and the trials you've been going through. :)

Nevertheless, I'm not going to keep going back & forth with you.

Yes, let's keep putting this back on me and my hard time. Skip that John is walking again. Skip he's about to start eating again. Skip that we're going "out" to celebrate big time tomorrow. "Hard time."

The only possible reason it could bother me that EVERYONE who doesn't fit into the in-crowd is a troll.

We've had three people truly hurting in the last week banned, because they just weren't of the proper caliber to fit within the designation of Not-troll by the good folks who tend to pounce on just about every newbie that comes along. But you're sensitive because I'm hurting.

No, I'm sensitive because you blast that dang red flag up every time BEFORE you truly figure out of someone IS a troll, just doesn't know any better, is extremely depressed, or has serious mental issues.

At least now you have a chance of getting why you bother me. I lost a potential ally this week, because he was too grumpy. I'm about to lose a friend on here because of false allegations. (Not really. At least I had time to get off-site info, and we've become friends off-site.) I met another person who was "stressed." I met another one who is hearing voices, but is excited because he is no longer experiences visual delirium. How many are left? Last seen, two. Because that red flag really works for no reason other then "they ain't our kind of people!"

Sad what happens by decree of the in-people, particularly since I remember you when you weren't one of the in-people.

I know. I'm going through a "hard time." Time to go, because I'm baking the dessert to celebrate that "hard time" tomorrow.

Ok, folks - RED FLAG!!!

This person claimed to be 15 yrs old in her first wall of text post:
http://christianchat.com/user2user-tech-support/134093-confused.html

And now she's 17 yrs old in her latest post.

Her first post didn't catch any interest... so she reposted the same wall of text in a second thread and that didn't catch on either. The third time that same wall of text got plenty of people posting and yet she didn't interact with any of them. Because there was no debate, it was a peaceful thread.

The fourth time she posted, it was a different wall of text in response to someone asking about their homosexual brother:
http://christianchat.com/christian-...mosexual-brother-need-help-6.html#post2574931

When that didn't get much response, she began this thread with a wall of text and has posted over 40 replies debating what everyone else has posted. Again, she was 15 in the first post and now is stating that she is 17.

Draw your own conclusions.
She was banned.
