I'm a single guy. I've been single all my life. First off, if men lived in a society where we isolate ourselves from the women of the world and live a monastic life like a monk in a society without women, maybe we won't need porn.
I use porn. I struggle with it sometimes. But I wasn't always like that. It's more complicated for me in my life.
We're born with feelings. Attraction is natural. Guys who refrain from porn maybe won't refrain from sleeping with women if they are single? I don't know.
All I know is that we need release for our sexual energy. It's healthy that way. Instead of being sex starved just because we're single and don't have a woman.
Sex isn't a want. It's a human need. It's a primal need.
This is where I accept I am a sinner and need God's grace to keep from watching porn.
Yeah, I get it. Men don't need porn and if a man gets married, it doesn't mean porn is going to get out of a man's life.
It takes work to kick the habit.
But sexual energy is always there and according to science, it is either diverted or discharged.
This is my experience. I've lived through my teen years without porn and it made me very very awkward with girls my age. Especially when I lacked proper sex education and parenting on this subject matter and a healthy social life which I wouldn't get till college.
Especially when you are raised in a boys only school and have a dysfunctional family to boot.
The only source there is on the subject is the internet.
Porn is not accurate on how sex happens. Everything is fake in it. Just like everything is fake in a choreographed fight scene in a movie.
It's all just to attract the viewer. I personally use it as a distraction. Is it wrong? Absolutely. I break down and cry sometimes knowing there's no one to share my struggles. I have nobody. Then I realize that this is my lot. Jesus died for my sins. I try and bring it down to a minimum. But that's about all I can do.
Every man's sexual energy is different as is every woman's. People are endowed differently and no two people are the same. People have different needs. And we live in a cruel world which is merciless and often heartbreaking.
If I had a woman, girlfriend or wife, I will commit to kicking the habit. I'd be honest. If the girl doesn't like me for my weaknesses, then she need not stay in my life that way. No need at all. But if she wants to help, then yes. I will kick the habit.
So I think all this should be openly discussed and the partners intending to marry should come to a mutual agreement before marriage.
As for the women watching porn? That's on them. If a woman wanted help letting go, sure the male counterpart would naturally want to help.
Everyone is human :/ If someone is living without porn, Kudos. Job well done. But not everyone can be that way or are that way.
Sexual needs aren't always satisfied for people while they live their lives. Be it being a single man or woman. Or even sometimes in a marriage.
That is why, even in the Bible, it is said... "don't deny yourselves to each other." Married couple have a duty to satisfy each other.
And if men have needs, women aren't any different either. They have needs too. For all of you who say otherwise, God bless you. If you can be that way, well and good. But not everyone can. And what people need are people who will accept them for who they are. Not who they want them to be.
God accepts me just the way I am. Whether anyone else accepts me for who I am or not is their affair.
