Health care in America stinks !!!!

That is the only way to put it, and there is 3 countries I have heard of that have 100% government funded health care programs and they are rated the best in the world.

It keeps getting turned down here because politicians and private doctor's use scare tactic's on the public to keep it from being approved here.

The truth is private doctor's would no longer be able to charge higher cost for the same procedure as public hospital doctor's, and they give money to the politicians to lie saying you can no longer pick your own doctor's and you will be forced to go where they tell you to.

People wake up we have to do that now in the system we have, as not all hospitals do the same procedures.

I have a hospital 23 miles from my house, but if I was to have cancer or a stroke I would have to go over 100 miles away to a different hospital.

Then I have two parents who is and was living on social security, yet medicare charges them $107 dollars a month, and this does not even cover prescription costs. They had to get a secondary insurance which costs even more money a month just to have prescriptions covered.

That is just ridiculous !!!

Then you get people complaining at somebody who is at least trying to make a change in the system, and most of the complaints come from others who have absolutely no other solution in place.

Then you go to emergency rooms where there maybe only two or three other people waiting but yet still wait for 3 to 4 hours before even being seen.
I love my health care in the U.S. Name those three countries with government run health care that are so great. I will challenge you to prove they are superior to our health care.

Government run health care gets support only from liberal Democrats. No Republicans voted for it. The majority of Americans do not want it. The President promised that Obamacare would allow them to keep their current health care. He lied. He further promised that if they liked their doctor, they could keep him / her. He lied. You seem to believe the Government can successfully run health care. Based on what? How do they run the military, the post office, Amtrak, welfare, homeland security, TSA, border security, department of education, EPA, taking care of roads and bridges, Medicare, Medicaid, or anything they touch? They will spend ten times too much money and there will be ten times more waste and fraud.

I'm listening to Special Report on Fox. Charles Krauthammer just discussed Obamacare and stated the biggest insurer is pulling out after losing $600,000,000 last year and saying the government should bail them out.

It was never going to work. Too many sick people vs. the few healthy people signing up. Insurers were destined to lose money. It is just another government disaster. Government should stay out of health care.

If you have two parent living on social security, they have made some very bad decisions along the line. Social security was meant as a supplement to their retirement investment. If they failed to put money into a retirement plan, they are to blame, not the government.

Medicare hands out more than it can afford. It is quickly going broke. Medicare part D, prescription coverage, cost taxpayers billions and is helping bankrupt Medicare. Yet people whine and complain they are getting too little for the cost and want more for free. We can thank those people for bankrupting the whole Medicare and Mediciad programs.

Learn simple math. Medicare costs are rising rapidly and entitlement spending is now close to 70% of all federal spending. Yet some people want us to spend more on entitlement spending. With interest payments on the debt growing with continued deficit spending, we all get to watch the U.S. government go broke and our economy collapsing. Then guess how much free health care you and your parents will get. Zero, nada, nothing.

Have you read the healthcare plan that was imposed? I already know the answer, but I ask just for fun. I am undecided on it myself after reading half of the 20,000 pages of it.

Who can coherently explain what this bill says?

I would ask who on Earth has time to read half of 20,000 pages but I guess you just answered that.

Ok, so I am condescending. I will accept the premise. Can anyone give an accurate account of what the ASA (Obamacare) will do?

Thank you in advance for not answering the question.

I was saying the dear comment was condescending, not you. But as far as your question... No chance I'm reading through 20,000 pages of that to do so. I don't think anyone else will, either.

I won't read it either, that's my point. Everyone has such strong opinions on something they don't know anything about. This is a problem.

I personally believe that America's biggest problem is that we have allowed our government to get so far out of hand that a 20,000 page bill was passed. Whether this bill is good or not we don't know. People bicker over it, and yet nobody actually knows what is in it. Do not be ashamed to say, "I don't know".

I have witnessed so many arguments from people (politically and religiously) where neither participant has a clue about what they are arguing. They would rather be wrong than admit their ignorance. This is SCARY. Their is so much information out there that I do not know. I will proudly call myself ignorant on these matters, instead of following some cult leader (Hitler, Manson, Koresh, Limbaugh, Beck, Joseph Smith, Joseph Bates, James White) this list is endless.
We as logical creatures are called to a much higher order, the Lord gave us the ability to educate ourselves, and ask questions. If God gave us this ability out of all the creatures He created, it is sinful to not use it.

I was just talking about health care with two American friends of mine. One pays $8000 a year on health care, and she is trying to move to Canada. The other is a 72 year old man who makes $1000 a month in pension and has to pay $189 a month for Medicaid. He says since they raised his rates, he had to frequent the food bank monthly, which he did not do before.

That is simply outrageous to me. And some of you are so out of touch with what is actually happening in health care in the US.

The USA has good health care, if you can afford it.

Canada has good health care, and everyone can afford it, because it is free! (And yes, we are glad our taxes go towards universal health care.)

And what the 72 yr old pays out does not include his medications if needed. It IS outrageous!!!

You make me laugh. Let me guess, you talk in a high voice and your favorite color is pink.
For someone that doesn't waste time, you surely have been taking time to respond to me.

But Nancy Pelosi said that they had to get it passed so that we would know what was in it.

No one has to read a 20,000 page document after the fact to know how it has affected both themselves and the ones they love. No one has to read a 20,000 page document after the fact to know that it doesn't do what was promised.
