The Dutch public have been warned it is "strictly ill-advised to lie
down on a bomb", after a man did just that for about three hours.

The man came across an unexploded World War Two device while
gardening in the town of Venlo on Wednesday.

When it started whistling he covered it with his body, apparently
trying to limit the damage.

Nearby residents were evacuated and the device proved harmless.
The man was treated for symptoms of hypothermia.
The device was variously described as a grenade or a shell.

Situations like this are the reason we have unnecessary warning labels. (Or at least, one would think they'd be unnecessary.)
Like the little packets of silicon gel that say do not eat? I always have to wonder who got their shoes delivered, and thought "hey look they came with snacks!"

Oh I’ve found another,
Don’t drive a car while wearing a blind fold!

It must be a full moon or something. Lol

Or with the sun shade in the window!

I went to a car wash the other day. The first thing they did was cover your windows with soap - and then expect you to maneuver a tight 90 degree turn into a narrow slot!

On the serious side, if there were people nearby who could have been injured/killed in a blast, the man was a hero.

He would have been real selfless if the bomb went off...but not in a good way...

Depending on the size of the bomb it would have blown him into thousands of indistinguishable pieces and not made a bit of difference to the casualties in the vicinity.
