Thats well and good but its a personal choice he made. There is no law or rule in NFL stating that he has to stand. Sure he might have offended some people but he did nothing illegal.
No one is claiming its illegal ..its immoral and shows the guy has no class

If you don't want to stand for the anthem then wait in the locker room until it's over. This would be like attending a church and refusing to stand for prayer. It's just a disrespectful thing to do

Most in my church get on their knees when we are praying. Some sit and bow their heads on the pew in front of them.

I don't like this man's attitude, but at the last football game I attended, kids and adults were sitting carrying on conversation and/or playing while the national anthem was played. To me he not only disrespected his country, he, as others here, disrespected his parents, grandparents, and the citizens of this great country.

Well some military personnel and Veterans think otherwise. https://www.facebook.com/NowThisNews/videos/1149527605137362/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED

At least his protest was not violent and well within acceptable standards of civility. We don't have to agree on his methods but he has the right to do so. I will not assume that he is doing anything more or less than this protest. Perhaps he is doing more and putting his actions and when necessary, his time and money towards productive activities and charities.

Just because they aren't publicized doesn't mean he has not. Perhaps this is the beginning of his efforts. Now that there is a moment of attention, let's see where this goes. Would people be shocked if in fact he held the opinion that we have to support our troops as they sacrificed and set aside the comforts and personal opinions to serve the USA?

What if the protest was limited to government practices? I seems to me that people are upset that he isn't supporting the troops and veterans, I haven't heard him say. Should he pbe prevented from showing sympathy or even empathy for anothers situation?

Ok, and as I've said some military perssonel do not share your thoughts. He still had a right to sit or stand and I doubt his actions were directed at the military. Everyone has their own views, we don't have to agree. I don't know his character but I will say his method of protest is better than some that has been occuring across the country.

No one has challenged his "legal" right...but its offensive to say we fought so this guy could insult the country and the people we fought for. If you was to take a survey... 99% of the Vets would be offended by him and your insulting post.

You can assume all you want you are within your rights to do so. Those politicans shown in a pic to be doing the same thing is more hypocritical and offensive to me as they are in key positions to make a change for the better. I'm not going to continue the back and forth with you. Bottom line he had a right to sit. There is an election that we all had better concern ourselves with not and NFL player.

Any politician that refuses to stand and honor our nation should lose their job ...I bet they are Democrats ..and you wont find me defended politicians ...but I will say this guy is just a crybaby jerk and your post about Vets fighting for these type of people, proves you know nothing bout vets or why we serve.... Its offensive But its OK in America to offend ole war vets but not street thugs ... Obamas America ..I guess?

He will probably have plenty of time to sit when no team wants anything to do with him... remember there was an NBA player who did the same thing and it ended his career

I've sat for prayer before. God doesn't care if you stand or sit. He looks at the heart and intent behind it.

I wouldn't go as far as saying immoral. Cheating on a wife is immoral. I wouldn't necessarily put those two together.

A lot of churches including mine stand for prayer. So refusing to stand would be a spirit of rebellion

Some folks have trouble standing after long periods of time or start to get dizzy after a while. Again, God looks at the heart and intent. He doesn't care if one stands or sits. We start to lose the actual meaning of worship and prayer if we start focusing on if one has to stand or sit.

God does indeed look at the heart. Standing for prayer is an act of reverence for God. So if a person doesn't stand just because he doesn't want to then that shows me where his heart is

Sounds more traditional and legalistic than anything. I know God takes great joy in seeing us worship Him, whether that's sitting or standing. If your church wants to force or guilt folks to stand for prayer, then that's their prerogative. I'm glad I'm not part of that kind of church.

You claim to be a war vet who fought for our freedoms, but youre only 47. So you would have been born 1969? What conflicts did you fight in? And exactly what freedoms were the US in danger of losing that you defended in those conflicts?
