Your replies indicate you're trying to stir unnecessary drama. Not in the mood for that today. It's one thing to have a discussion and kindly disagree. It's another to be deliberately contentious. I'm done discussing anything with you.
I'm standing up for myself and others. You don't like it? Leave.

How did you get that out of that scripture and where did I ever say that? can you find that post please?
You've been implying it all throughout the thread and others.

Girls?
I don't need to flex my guns on that.

Now, l think you might be bending the truth a little, Mitspa.

10K long winded posts in a year?
The sound of desperation in your posts?

The posing like the Mona Lisa in your avatar?

Do you have a job or a gf, bro?
Lets be real....you're ALWAYS on CC, when do you have time for either?

Believe me, I've seen worse. Much worse.
Btw, I am sorry for coming off rude earlier to you and others. I was in a
bad mood, sick with a virus and I accidentally brushed my teeth with preparation-H earlier(prob should remove that from the toothpaste drawer.) been a bad day.

First of all--THANK YOU to the gentlemen who stepped in on my behalf. People rarely defend me, so I appreciate the support. Having said that...

I find it problematic that Christians--you know, those of us who are meant to be imitating Jesus--cannot discuss a topic without engaging in personal insults.

We are all distorted because of sin--our own and others. Because of this, there is the potential that we might rub each other the wrong way or have incorrect understandings or confuse our thinking with the mind of God. Can't we extend grace to each other?

We're meant to be submitting to one another out of love for Christ. Submission is very very hard for most people. However, I don't know that it's our job to teach anyone some kind of lesson in submission by offering shame and humiliation in a public setting. We need to trust in the subtle and significant power of the Holy Spirit and pray for those who come against us with unlove. At least, that's my approach to it. (Btw, the reason I recommend this is because it has spared me much frustration).

Shaming people doesn't draw them to Christ. It isolates them...corners them...and has them coming out fighting.

So, let us be at peace. This is advent...a season of preparation for the arrival of Jesus in the world as our infant savior, and a future anticipation of his return in glory.

Concerning the gun issue.

The scriptures do explicitly say "Protect the weak."

A few years back, a rash of burglaries started in my neighborhood mainly targeting houses within 10 houses of me. The burglaries were occurring about 2-3 times a week over the course of 2 months. I was hit several times losing my new lawnmower, new grill, and a few other things outside.

Then the unimaginable happened. They came into my house twice while we slept.

I was between projects working as a building contractor at the time so I had some free time. I grabbed my 20 gauge shotgun and sat on my front porch in the dark late into the night. Sometimes, I stood wearing all black on top of my garage where I could see a few properties away in each direction.

I sat on the porch during the daytime and walked my front walkway being sure to make my weapon visible to everyone on the street. We knew that it was someone close enough to watch all of the houses that were hit. I started a neighborhood watch and within months I was able to apprehend 6 people during break-ins and have them put in jail.

Fortunately, I never had to shoot anyone but let this be clear. If I had to, I would have.

Most of my neighbors were retired elderly people and everyone in the neighborhood was grateful for my vigilance when peace was restored to our little community. The police commended me on my efforts as well. As a matter of fact, there was only one household that had an issue with me being armed. That was the drug-dealers that lived a few houses down that ended up moving out several months later.

"Protect the weak." What does that mean? Jesus was not weak and did not need Peter's assistance when Peter cut off the ear of the guard. Jesus was forfeiting his life for us. Let's not forget the guards that initially came to capture Jesus and how they fell backwards on their butts from the power of him just mentioning who he was. He is not weak and does not need our protection.

However if anyone threatens innocents that are not able to defend themselves, you had better believe that stepping up and stepping in on their behalf is the right thing to do. How are you going to be willing to give your life for your wife, as commanded in scripture, if you are not willing to place yourself in harms way on her behalf?
