It isn't difficult to tell the truth, but it is incredibly difficult to explain why you lied to your child. Most kids are resilient and can come out just fine after being lied to for years... however, it doesn't make bearing false witness acceptable.

I don't even know what you're objecting to about what I've said... Do you think it's wrong to tell your children the truth but to go ahead and pretend? What is to disagree with me about?
I think I just don't like you. I think you think you know things that you don't have a clue about. That makes you even more dangerous. Go educate yourself before you screw up your own kids.

Oh boy... this is why every kid gets a trophy even when they lose... We have to be careful not to tell them the truth... we need to shelter them... What the man did was unnecessary but to answer your question, yes... I'm okay with the man exercising his freedom of speech the way he did. Men and women died so he could do that... While you're here TYPING tough, men and women fought the good fight so that we could say what was on our mind, even if many people disagree.

No, you want a safe place... you want to be the tough guy who makes people's bodily fluids spill out because someone said something you don't like. This is the world we live in... trophies for all kids and safe places for people who don't like other people exercising their constitutional right.

You pretend to be this champion of kids and in the same breath want to teach them how to use physical violence which would be entirely illegal in this context.... simply because you disagree with what he has to say. And you call that garbage... pot meet kettle.
As far as body fluids, I do what's necessary to protect my own from demagogues and bullies that try to steal their joy, and I make no apologies for it. You on the other allow yours to be abused. How sad.

Sanctimonious and self important. Did I leave anything out?

For me, this is the focal point of the entire story. There's no love coming from this pastor; no gentleness, tenderness or compassion; and don't anyone try feeding me any sanctimonious, patronizing garbage that it's tough love and that its long overdue in our society.

If any child I love was there and I saw their smiles turn into frowns of young despair, that "pastor" would have endured my complete and unadulterated fury which would have resulted in the loss of some of his bodily fluids.

I will decide when my little ones will know the true essence of Christ's birth, and I promise it will be early in life and to the fullest. In the meantime they'll enjoy the entire Santa mystique.

You,Sirk,Willie brothers you're good men, good men. We don't always agree but times like these make up for it. :)

You couldn't be more wrong when describing me. Safe places? Participation trophies? You're a hoot. And for the record jackass, I'm a veteran who served honorably and I despise liberals whom you just described. Now let's see if you go tell mommy and daddy forum administrators that I called you a bad whittle name while exercising my freedom of speech.
This is a Christian forum with rules. Freedom of speech doesn't necessarily apply. We can essentially say what is on our minds provided we keep to the rules. Now, do I care that you called me a name? :p No, I'm actually laughing out loud when I read your message... Being a veteran myself, I learned when to talk and act tough... and it's NOT when someone disagrees with you. That's for the liberals you claim to despise... they do that any time their child doesn't get a trophy or when Trump says a harsh true. Between you and me, one of us has been advocating a safe place from this pastor... I'll give you a hint, it wasn't me. :p

What makes you think this? You can't articulate one thing you disagree with me on yet want to argue about everything. It's a bit strange...

You can break the law and go against God's word... but please don't be self righteous and do it "in the name of the children!" Your priority should be to God's word first...

Its not that I can't articulate. It's that you can't understand.

Thanks to the 2 people who gave a rep. Much appreciated.

I can't understand what you don't articulate.
what I'm trying to tell you cannot be taught. Only learned by exierience by someone willing to learn.

You have a constitutional right to speak. You do NOT have a constitutional right to be heard. You cannot force your speech on people that don't want to hear you.

Had this man shouted his opinion outside, or even in a different location of the mall, then the free speech argument might hold water.

That's it right there, Smoke. I think this is the point where you stop trying to find some other rationale for sustaining this argument. The reason has been given.

Non parents giving parenting advice is really silly....and arrogant. I don't like arrogance.

We used to have the kids uncle come visit, dressed up like Santa. They figured it out themselves eventually, but before that they were totally sure Santa was real:).
True story....

I was about 13 and staying with my Aunt & Uncle over the holidays it was Christmas Eve and Tommy their cat was staring out the front window. My Aunt Versie saw him and said Tommy is looking for Santa Claus.... Some time past and the doorbell rang when my Aunt opened the door there stood Santa Claus asking if it were a certain house he was suppose to show up at for a party.... Wrong house but a great story about a cat waiting for Santa.......it was real and the story is true....

Yeah, but at the same time, I don't think I said anything much different than Smoke earlier in this thread, but you didn't react to me the same way. You said it yourself: you just don't like him...

Actually... you don't have a constitutional right to do much of anything on PRIVATE PROPERTY.

The mall security would have every right to escort him out,
and they probably did.

You're the hero that was here a few weeks ago defending a female pastor for having an abortion. Today you're defending an idiot pastor for crushing innocent dreams of innocent children. Let me guess what you'll defend tomorrow -- NAMBLA. Not impressed.

Men can also be emotionally driven, not only women. Men and women are not very different after all.

You're right sister. That's really what it boils down to. I wish it was something substantively so there can be an actual discussion instead of acting out based on emotions.
