Report: IAF strikes Damascus Airport - Middle East - News - Arutz Sheva

Arab media reports Israeli fighter jets hit Damascus international airport, taking out electricity and halting flights - target unclear.
According to the reports, powerful explosions were heard in the international airport. In parallel, the airport's electricity went out completely, and flight traffic was temporarily halted.
It is not clear whether the target of the alleged strikes were an arms shipment, or a terror cell planning attacks against Israel.
Just last week Arab media quoted sources in Syria reporting that the IAF struck a transfer of Scud missiles to the Iran terror proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon, in strikes that took place in the Qalamoun mountainous border region.
That report followed on the heels of Syrian media reports the previous Saturday of an alleged Israeli airstrike in the Qalamoun region, targeting Hezbollah and Syrian regime forces.
Bogus report. Russia wouldn't let Israel near to do this.

At least one major reason for Christians being targeted is that they support Assad because he is supposed to be tolerant of
religious minorities. This doesn't go down well with the Sunni Muslim majority. Assad and his supporters are Sheite
Most of the Syrian army is Sunni. Most of Syria's government is Sunni. It's the sectarian Sunnis that are the problem.

Things are going very well. Kweiris airbase in Aleppo has just been liberated from ISIS after a 3 year siege. When a large enough perimeter is secured, Russia will begin using this airbase also. Jihadist defenses are collapsing all over the place.
I had heard this on the news a few days ago. If they can hold it then indeed a very symbolic victory as Aleppo has probably been the most infamous battleground in the Syria War for the past 3 years indeed. However I'm going to stay a lil cautious on that for the next few weeks. There's been lots of claims of taking Aleppo over the past few years but it's still a day-to-day uncertainty who really controls it.

I still don't think the Russians are doing as well as they thought they would, that's kinda obvious by now. Not that I fault them really. I didn't expect them to rip and roar through Syria as quickly as their propaganda claimed they would. Islamic State are total bastards, but admittedly they are pretty hardy fighters, they won't give up easily.

Does make me think of another story though. The general rule of thumb I've learned when analyzing the Syria-Iraq War is always take the news with a grain of salt. However if it is true, the Kurds may have liberated Sinjar in Iraq recently with help of US air support. If it is so and there's no significant counter attacks in the coming weeks, then indeed this is probably the most significant victory against the Islamic State to date.

Don't believe everything you read on news sites.
The Russians, it seems, have no choice but to allow it. As Godissalvation pointed out, the Russians are having a hard enough time. Playing footsie with the brilliant IAF would be terrible idea.

Russia never liked Israel, they think they are America's puppet. They are wrong though. America don't want Israel bombing in Syria either, but Israel will do it because they have no choice, they cannot let their long time foes who indeed have a long history of attacking them, Hezbollah, get stronger right on their doorstep. Syria is just a mess and messes are hard for everyone. It's not because I say it is so, it's just what it is. So many factions that basically the high dynamics of it make it terrible. You all bring good information and points too even when we disagree, it is good for perspective. Remember though, what is it even if we are right? It's just more doom and death for that region and terrible choices for our people even. War is no good, would like to explore solutions to getting the Christians out and safely to somewhere they'll be safe at least for the time being. Problem is then there's the whole internal US immigration debate itself which by virtue of it even existing makes such endeavors currently hard to attain, not impossible though, just hard, but alas that's a whole other topic.

EDIT: Also you're both right by the way, don't believe every forum post nor every news site. Believe Jesus will save some of the remnant and those that have all ready perished in the storm are as martyrs for him.

There was a preaching about Russia invading Syria and how it will happen because it's according to prophecy. This is huge because as everyone think that it relieve some sort of relief for the fellow brethren, what will eventually happen after is Russia will combine forces to attack Israel at its door steps.

Anyways, I don't know all the in and outs, all I know is, we all have to be attached to the vine and to abide in him, and he will abide in us.

Oh, and also an interesting thing to note is if you look at the video posted by OP, the first translation says, "Everyone know why we do this, we are making our path for the khalifia." Which in translation just means, the "divine one" who will be given all authority and act as and become a god, according to their own beliefs. This khalifia is no other than the anti-christ himself, and the nation will eventually give power to him by flattery.

What also is interesting about this is that in Revelation, God mentions Pergamum as the city of satan. Which in today time, Pergamum is no other than Turkey. Turkey was the same place where the Ottoman empire gave birth, and was later wounded and separated. They never a strong political stance for years to come. As our generation stand, Turkey is back on its feet, and their hope is for the very khalifia to rule over them.

The time is near.

You really don't know the situation very well. Russia has an A2/AD (no fly) zone over eastern Syria. Six Su-30s already chased off 4 Israeli f-15s from entering Syrian airspace. There is speculation that Russia has jamming hardware operational that has Nato and Israel blind as to what's going on. There are reports that virtually all of ISIS ammunition stockpiles have been destroyed. I don't know where you folks are getting your information, but it's not realistic to say Russia's not doing well. Once supply lines are cut, the terrorists will collapse very fast. We're already starting to see signs of that. Turkey is starting to get nervous and threatening to enter the war directly.

I hope they drop some FOABs on those losers. That would help to end the war very quickly. Raqqa, Mosul, gone.

Umm, GodisSalvation will just say 'consider the source'.
Actually this article is pretty much spot on. I'm not trying to argue against it being a bomb. Merely just wanting it to be 100% confirmed whatever way it may be. I figure the victims deserve to know the truthful answer with 100% certainty. If it is true they found traces of explosives like that article and this one included below says then indeed it seems we may have that 100% confirmation.

Last article I read pertaining to the Sinai Crash investigation:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...6286f4-8d05-11e5-ae1f-af46b7df8483_story.html

Lol as for the source, you know that's not the same Pravda as the one in infamous Soviet lore, right? I know, kinda surprised me too. Found that one out myself when McCain and Putin were writing dueling Op Eds in each other's propaganda paper outlets.
Truthfully, McCain in wrong Pravda - POLITICO

Reminds me of an interesting episode earlier on in the war. I find it very interesting in retrospect the little Op Ed skirmish between US and Russo politicos from 2013. It's a good marker for how much the situation has or has not changed in the small space of time of two years. A very good example of the high dynamics and the many turns of fate that have become a major theme in Syria and the wider World War 3. Here's Putin's Op Ed:

Here's McCain's counter Op Ed alluded to in the politico article:
