Every firearm that is not fully automatic, is a semi automatic. So they will have to ban all firearms.
With the dozens of weapons I have owned, only three have not been semi-automatic........... My first rifle at 8, which was a single shot .22 that had to be loaded, one cartridge at a time...... a bow and arrow...... and a slingshot. Even the lever actions, pumps, and bolt actions were, in essence, semi-automatics.

The bolt action single shot is still semi automatic. Load, fire, reload fire, reload, fire.

Fully auto means.......load, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire......'till it's empty.

Semi automatics can be clip fed, cylinders, or bolt action, break open (as with shotguns. Semi automatic simply means there is/are additional step(s) between firings of the weapon.

Trust me on this. Some politicians would love to.

Self loading AND firing with one squeeze of the trigger is auto. Civilians really have no need to possess these.

Yeah. When in the Army, I was the NCOIC of the Rifle Range and oversaw annual qualifying for my Battalion. We had one range for semi auto firing and one for fully auto firing. That was for safety purposes. Some of the soldiers only fired their weapons during qualifications, and I and my staff kept a close eye on them, and they only qualified on the semi auto fire range. :)

For those who actually carried their weapons on a daily basis, we qualified them both semi and fully firing. I was kinda strict. In order for them to qualify as Expert on the full auto range, they had to put a three round burst in the kill zone of a target three times at 100 meters. I was often pleased with the number of soldiers who qualified Expert, and on two occasions, I had three women soldiers who qualified Expert.

The fun part was when (at the end of the qualification session) we would allow them to approach a target at 50 meters with a 25 round clip, set at full auto, and let 'em have at it. They enjoyed it, but only those who qualified Expert got to do this.

I've never owned one that was exclusively single action.
Some of the old Colts were single action revolvers, They were hard to fire with any accuracy. For me anyway. But they are probably worth a bunch of money now I suppose.

I thought it was interesting how the pastor held the auto loader right up against the "suspect". Anyone else catch that?

No way he could miss............but, then, the actor (suspect) was approaching him aggressively and fairly fast.

Wonder how he will address this experience with his congregation, and community? They need to do a follow up story on him to see how it all plays out.

The thing about it is that if there were other suspects around his next one might not be in the chamber.

I have a feeling a lot will eventually get down-played and retold in a less dramatic way.

Looked like he was using a mock 9 mil to me, if so, it chambers after every ejection until the clip is empty.

In close quarters like that things can prevent the action from completing the cycle is what I was thinking I guess. Thats why people carry revolvers in bear country.

Will be interesting to see what the cop haters say when they show up... well, if they come in here. But no doubt it will be some excuse to discredit the video and the individual.
