I'm just grateful my rights aren't dictated based on what other people think I need or don't need. A lot of people would argue I don't need to be "superstitious" and worship an "imaginary being" as well.

First off, I would say the FBI and local law enforcement officials either need to do their jobs correctly or be fired ... And if teachers are qualified to carry a weapon I see no reason why they should not have the right to carry a weapon while at work ... A law abiding citizen has a right to protect himself at home ... I believe he/she should have the same right to protect themselves at work ... However, I would not do as Trump suggested and pay any teacher extra money to carry a weapon ... I believe that "extra money" incentive would only entice some individuals to do it just for the money alone ... That is not the reason we want them to have for carrying any weapon ... We already have that problem with some of law enforcement and we see where that led ...

Unfortunately, law enforcement is often proving to be a complete failure in this country ... It is time that law abiding citizens need to arm themselves in order to protect themselves, their families and others from criminals ... It has become a fact of life in the United States ... Kentucky is one of the few states that have recently realized this and in this state one can now legally carry nearly everywhere except for a courtroom ...

I'm speaking from my heart: if I had to go to grade school or beyond; if my teachers
had to 'carry', this would have absolutely destroyed me for the rest of my life, for it would
only have added to the horror that I had to go home to - I would be dead if that were the case,
and I know, that in my situation back then, I definitely would be 'asleep' in Christ long ago...

Today, if teachers are NOT "carrying" students may not have an earthly home to go home to at all ... I agree it is a sad situation ... However, I have to believe God wants His children to be protected ...

Should Teachers be armed...

CHeck out Chicago......they have the stiffest gun laws in the nation. If you own a gun, you cannot bring it out of the house (loaded) for any reason. Then look at who has the guns and do not care.......

If you take away the regular citizen's guns, then Chicago it is.........For a GUN FREE ZONE attracts Thugs with guns....and people die....

Yes,,,
Let the teachers who are comfortable carry a gun, carry them after training of course.

Uh most of the problems in the school are attributable to the teachers not the students. Who do you think is driving the students over the edge with radical philosophies?

The teachers cannot deal with their emotional issues and you want to trust them with guns? Cyber schooling is a far better solution.

Seriously?....Walked the halls of any colleges, high schools, elementary schools lately, you have no idea what most students are like.

At the school that I work at the majority of teachers are devout Christians. A large amount of students have pretty severe emotional issues due to being raised in dysfunctional chaotic single households or being raised by overburdened grandparents because they have been abandoned by their parents. Unless you teach in California or a liberal place like that there are no “radical philosophies”. I teach students reading, writing and math and that’s it. Nothing more radical than that.

It’s a bit hurtful to have Christians make such unfounded generalizations and exaggerations about teachers. It’s also a terrible witness. Unbelievers who are teachers read statements like that, know that it’s an untruthful exaggeration, and as a result write Christians off as being deceitful.
