No. I dont. I believe the Bible was inspired by God, but not dictated. It is not God who made mistakes; it was fallible men. Mistakes happen over the centuries in translation, mistakes happen when something that is copied over and over again is copied wrong ... one word ... can change the entire meaning. Jesus was infallible and inerrant.
Not tryintg to be God at all. the bible says the earth is flat. Do you believe that?
The Bible says the sun rotates around the sun. Do you believe that.
It says the world is 6,000 years old ... many do not believe that.

The message is clear and remains the same. It is to be found in Jesus' teachings.
I believe God created it all ... evolution just changes the "how" of it all.

I am not picking and choosing. I see what I see and I cannot unsee things like the earth is flat. I choose to say that falllible men made mistakes. that is all.
If you believe the Bible is full of mistakes how do you know your sins are forgiven,or you are going to heaven,or if there is a heaven at all?! How can you trust one word of the Bible? You can't. I don't trust the newspaper for my salvation,I don't trust GQ magazine,I don't trust Harlequin Romance. No,I trust the Word if God because I know it to be true. If you can't trust that then the Bible is no more important than those other books. Whats the point in reading it at all? Its just another book.

The Bible does not say the world is flat, man came up with that explanation. The Bible says God sits on the circle of the earth, not the prairie plain. And in fact it was the Catholic church who tried to silence those who believed what the Word of God said and saw evidence of it.Im not sure where you're getting the Bible says the sun rotates around the sun,do you mean earth? What verse are you speaking of? And there are varying opinions as to the age of the earth even within scientific though. Some believe young earth, some believe older.

Evolution doesn't change anything, you need to do a deeper study on that subject. If I recall I don't think even Hawking believed in the big bang theory. You can't believe God created it all if you don't trust the Bible. Who knows perhaps a big, pink elephant created the ear with a flap of his ears. We cannot know if we cannot trust the Bible.

I actually meant it any way you like it.

Haha I'll say to you what my old maiden aunt use to say to all the younger men "If I was only ten years younger..." and in my case, not married. :p She'd always pretend to lose her balance and grab their arm.Yeah, she was a cougar before they invented the word.

Everyone should beware of trying to fit God into the moralistic emotional box of our limited understanding.

Answer this: How could Jesus who preached love and forgivness torment people (let us say Jews here ... who grew up Jewish obeying what their parents taught them ... this is their religion ... just as christianity is my religioin). They are taught by their parents that this IS the truth. do they go to hell because they obeyed their parents and believed them? Or a Hindu for that matter. this is not willfully not knowing Jesus ... it is the sum total of where you are born, the family you are borne into.
If you were a Jew, you would be saying that Jesus was a great man, but not the son of god. Yoou would believe that because that is what you were taught. That is my point.
Do thse people who are essentially ignorant of the "truth" go to Hell for that?
I believe in justice for criminals ... but, of course that justice is God's , not mine.
You may have heard it said that we have a God shaped hole in each of us. God makes Himself known, the Bible is there for us to read. Its a bit different for a Jew but I wont get into that. The Bible says we are without excuse. So again,it is a matter of our own choice. God knows hearts and says He will reward those who honestly seek Him.

I'm carrying God in my emotional purse along with my cigarettes and emergency make up bag.

Dare I say "lol"?

Emergency make up bag? What does that consist of? I can't have much in a purse,I have a bad neck.Yet no matter how hard I try the stupid thing is still too heavy.

Stephen Hawking couldn't have functioned without the Israeli technology in his computer equipment.

Susanna, I meant that all of of-prior to a better understanding of God-tend to think He should be 'good' according to our own morals and emotions. And yes, please feel free to 'lol' in answer to anything I post. I'm sure God laughs out loud, and has a great sense of humor: He made me, didn't He???????

How do you know he is in Hell? Isn't that God's call. How do you know he led others to Hell? Provide examples.

I have always felt that he was angry at God because of his condition. Maybe we will hear from someone he repented before it was to late.
He was. That's why I feel bad for him now. His theories were always a nose-thumb at God for his ALS.

Where Stephen Hawkings is now ... we don't know. God will decide. When Billy Graham died, many said that he, too, was in Hell because towards the end of his life, he became more inclusive. He stated that people of others faiths, or no faith at all, might be saved IF they lived as if they knew Jesus (paraphrasing).

I cannot judge anyone's soul. I certainly dont believe that people of other religions (and possibly no religion at all) will go to Hell because they believed in the wrong "things". I wonder if there even is a Hell.
Jesus taught about Hell, but you don't know if it exists? That too is sad.

Sometimes I'm wondering, what does really the passage "No one comes to the Father except THROUGH me" mean?

How do we interprete "trough"?

(Couldn't help myself. lol)

Although to become a bit more serious, I think we have "through" figured out.

According to the Bible people will go to hell if they do not trust in Christ as their Savior. Its as simple as that.Hawking made it quite clear that he did not believe in a God. Know he knows the truth.
Yup, but I always hold out hope for 11:59:59.

One other thing: the theology that if you dont know Jesus/believe in Jesus you go to hell means that chidren born into the "wrong" religion, and who believe that their parents teach them about their God ... willl go to eternal torment for that? Utter nonsense. God is not a chrisian, or a Jew or Muslim. There is one God and many paths.
It is our actions, not our "right" belief system.
What God would create anyone knowing in advance (since god knows everything) that they would burn in eternal hellfire. If I believed that, I would never have children because they might go there.
There are not many paths that lead to God. That’s Oprah’s pluralistic theology, but not found in the Bible. The Christ is the ONLY way to the Father.
