I think we both know, Dar, that the answer to your last PM should be a "Not at this time."

This "division" is no worse than what the current progressive community has brought to the US, with its calling everyone who does not agree with their values racist, bigots, sexists, and other names. They hide under a veil of tolerance and inclusiveness but they constantly divide people up and cause them to fight by working their emotions, and creating enemies. I mean think back to Martin Luther King JR, he helped the nation by bringing everyone together and talked about equality. He did not go off villainizing an entire group of people and call them racist by default. Yet thats exactly what groups like BLM are doing. They are creating more racism than anything, and are reversing progress made in our nation.

And for all these emotional responses of the poor immigrants who cant come to the country because of people who would take advantage of this mass migration and attack the country, I wish they could think rationally on the issue instead of just become emotional about it.

I mean, clearly bringing them in with no processing or anything is a terrible idea. Doesnt matter if its "nice", its a terrible idea and it will have consequences. Why not come up with a different plan? Why not find ways to provide them with shelter in their own land? Help them recover some of what they lost there?
But nope, thats just not nice enough. We must always do the nice thing even if we have to pay the ultimate price for it, anything thats not that is just hateful and unacceptable and we should just be ashamed of ourselves for thinking things through rationally.

You know I hear Saudi Arabia has a whole community ready for just this very thing, yet they arent using it. We could push them to do their part. But nah lets shame ourselves for looking after our best interests.
And yet, THAT is the problem. We were rational when deciding who could and who couldn't come into this country. And yet those people we said could have suddenly been stopped from doing just that. NOT rational at all. My peeve at this decision!

I dont believe its possible to separate Muslims who want to follow the commands of Jihad from the Muslims who dont.

I dont think its such a horrible thing to find an alternative to bringing them all into our country.

As for Muslims who arent seeking help from the Syria conflict, and just want to come live here in the US, I wouldnt normally have a problem with that (but they must be willing to accept that all beliefs are welcomed here, and that they cannot expect anything to be changed to fit their own comfort level. I certainly dont want to see anything like the image of the cross banned nationally as to not offend the Muslims), but due to the current problems we are having now, I dont think a temporary ban until the problem with Syria is solved is a bad idea.

We ARE foreigners! Unless you're 100% native American you are in this country by the very process those folks went through before being held up or refused yesterday!

And bull on no other country is for us! England is for us! Canada is for us! Also of January 20th, Israel! Australia, most of Europe, most of everywhere (but countries run by dictators) are for us! We're supposed to be the good guys. The got-your-six guy. We forgot that for a while. I still have hope this guy remembers that and brings us back to that position.
Lol I get this argument a lot, but I have to say no. Even if I want to ignore the minor amount of supposed Cherokee in my bloodline, I was born here and of several generations down, I'd say I'm pretty native. In the American Way our Old World racial structures have nothing to do with our nativity. American identity is all about birthright. I was born in Aultman Hospital in Canton Ohio, I know from whence I come and many of my peers and brothers of a multitude of the ancient races of Shem, Ham, and Japheth were born there too and are just as native as I to this land.

As for the other nations, even the friendly ones as you mentioned are not totally for us, they can't fully understand us. Just the same as we can't for them. By American Law, our government serves US, not them. By their laws, their governments serve them, not US.

That was poorly worded. Muslims dont live exclusively in the middle east.

Having bans on immigration from certain nations should have been my focus there.

Poor liberals -- understanding what conservatives felt like for the last eight years.
Except for the pesky little fact that the stock market just hit an all time high last week, IIRC. He's doing a good job of destroying it, isn't he?

FYI,
You're too good a writer not to know that "whence" doesn't get a "from" preceding it. LOL

If our immigration policy is so rational previous to a couple of days ago. I dare you to take out a craigslist add with your address stating that you'll give free meals away..,take out a loan you can never pay back to do it and then play roulette with that one guy that might show up and rob and or kill you. Sound rational to you? It doesn't to me. In fact it sounds pretty foolish.

This is the mentality that got our current PM elected ... a spoiled, spoon-fed clueless rich kid ... that I'd like to kick square in the a__ ... with steel toed boots. I'll trade you our entire ruling liberal party for one Donald Trump.
LOL "spoiled, spoon-fed." LOL

Try it some time. Try being raised in a family where it is assumed you'll be taking over the family empire. I come from a large family where way back when (1900=1920's) my great-grandfather created four family businesses that made them quite rich. So rich, he could afford taking off for eight years to become FDR's under-secretary on the Treasury. And how could he do that? He got his oldest son to run the family businesses. (He was in his late 20's then.)

Oldest son, my great Uncle Marshal, made those businesses thrive enough to turn them into eight businesses. He past it on to his grandson. (His son lucked out, since Uncle Marshal kept working until he died when he was 96 years old. Not so lucky really, since his son died an old man.) As it stands now, Uncle Marshall's side of the of the family is the polo-ponies/social balls set. The rest of us lucked out, and got to make our own ways.

Trump was neither spoiled nor spoon-fed. He got business shoved down his throat from an early age and learned it well. His father was rich, but he was never as rich as Trump, because Trump worked it, and worked it hard!

Don't give me that "spoiled, spoon-fed" junk! You wouldn't want the life he grew up in. And, frankly, he'd have you in a headlock minus your steal-tipped shoes within half a second after raising that foot. Scrappy! The kids of those people who hand over a family empire are scrappier than you could ever imagine!

Oh my Willie I am so flattered by this comment.

However "whence" means: from what place or source. So by interpretation: I know from what place or source I come.

Lol no that's not our native Ohio tongue. The native Ohio tongue has a lot of what the rest of you all consider to be crass and cuss words, but to us we don't really think about it like that.

On the contrary, YOU are safer today than you were ten days ago.
Honestly? "Safer" is a Democratic word. I'm Republican. I want "freer."

He always was just about the best writer on this forum... at least in terms of grammatical correctness.... I would hate to see him let that honor slip in this latest incarnation.

Give me a break. You watched the airport news just like I did. One by one, couple by couple, those people were allowed to go on their way, smiling and happy with just some inconvenience to check their papers out.

The only right and effective way to begin this new vetting process was done... an immediate enforcement. A couple of dozen people just happened to be on planes when that occurred, and were inconvenienced one afternoon. Some of these freely inflowing people have been, and still are, intent on murdering us en mass. As much as Liberals don't seem to care about that, Trump cares, and is trying to protect us.
That's because they didn't rush over to the airports in the banned countries to see the people turned away from coming here. You see what you want to see.

That has been my experience.... especially with people from around Columbus.

Being turned away at an airport is not a big deal.
