In "Network" whole cities of people ran to the windows and started shouting Beale's insane rant, "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!"
That what the Trump followers are doing, Sirk. Shouting "I'm mad as hell" without knowing what to do about it. Neither did Beale in the movie. He said exactly that, "I don't know what to do about it, but we need to get mad!"
Trump in real life is saying the exact same thing. He hasn't a clue what to do, but boy can he get people stirred up and mad. To what end? "It is a tale. Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing." ("Macbeth, Act 5, Scene 9, Lines 26-28)
Anyone can identify a problem. It takes leadership, intellect, and commitment to actually solve it. Trump is not insane as was the character Beale, but he is woefully short on all three of these counts.
Then it it truly a mystery why you would get so excited about people telling the truth about him, if he is not "your boy," is it not?
