I mean seriously, take some time to read the above...speaking to dems and liberals here...no wonder the democrats want to abolish all historic statues etc pertaining to the civil war and teach revisionist history creating lies and deception because THEY are the actual catalyst for the way blacks were treated after the Civil War

constantly pointing fingers at the GOP and saying Trump is a racist and blah blah blah

communism...never mind socialism...lie lie lie....yell and scream...cry false tears...moan and groan...and deceive deceive deceive until you have half the country thinking it's the other side that actually did what you are guilty of

never mind the Kavanaugh hearing and how all the lying women have disappeared. caught in lies even while they were testifying

wake the hee hah up!

There are people who work 40 hours a week but still have trouble putting food on the table.
Yea they do after buying $50 a carton cigarettes, $20 a bottle whiskey, and paying that $100 a month cell phone bill.
BUT, got to get the important stuff first.

The minimum wage here in Arkansas is $9.25 per hour, or $370 a week if one works 40 hours.
If a person buys real food, not chips, sodas, frozen pizza, or stuff you just stick in the microwave, it is not at all hard to feed a family on that income.
And most people do get raises unless they are a just not productive at all.

Probable not so Calif. or New York, but who in their right mind would live there.

During the last election my wife said that if I voted for Trump I would be sleeping on the couch. I'll probably just do another write-in vote for Bernie unless he actually gets the Democrat nomination. I know that he's a socialist but he's generally amusing.

Meant to add this, but forgot.
Every household in Arkansas that works for minimum wage qualifies for State Medicaid at no or little cost.
A single lady in our church makes $10.50 an hour and pays $13 a month for Medicaid coverage.
She lives very well on her $20,000 a year income.

Founded in 1865, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) extended into almost every southern state by 1870 and became a vehicle for white southern resistance to the Republican Party’s Reconstruction-era policies aimed at establishing political and economic equality for blacks. Its members waged an underground campaign of intimidation and violence directed at white and black Republican leaders. Though Congress passed legislation designed to curb Klan terrorism, the organization saw its primary goal–the reestablishment of white supremacy–fulfilled through Democratic victories in state legislatures across the South in the 1870s. After a period of decline, white Protestant nativist groups revived the Klan in the early 20th century, burning crosses and staging rallies, parades and marches denouncing immigrants, Catholics, Jews, blacks and organized labor. The civil rights movement of the 1960s also saw a surge of Ku Klux Klan activity, including bombings of black schools and churches and violence against black and white activists in the South.
Founding of the Ku Klux Klan
A group including many former Confederate veterans founded the first branch of the Ku Klux Klan as a social club in Pulaski, Tennessee, in 1865. The first two words of the organization’s name supposedly derived from the Greek word “kyklos,” meaning circle. In the summer of 1867, local branches of the Klan met in a general organizing convention and established what they called an “Invisible Empire of the South.” Leading Confederate general Nathan Bedford Forrest was chosen as the first leader, or “grand wizard,” of the Klan; he presided over a hierarchy of grand dragons, grand titans and grand cyclopses.

Did you know? At its peak in the 1920s, Klan membership exceeded 4 million people nationwide.
The organization of the Ku Klux Klan coincided with the beginning of the second phase of post-Civil WarReconstruction, put into place by the more radical members of the Republican Party in Congress. After rejecting President Andrew Johnson’s relatively lenient Reconstruction policies, in place from 1865 to 1866, Congress passed the Reconstruction Act over the presidential veto. Under its provisions, the South was divided into five military districts, and each state was required to approve the 14th Amendment, which granted “equal protection” of the Constitution to former slaves and enacted universal male suffrage.
Ku Klux Klan Violence in the South
From 1867 onward, African-American participation in public life in the South became one of the most radical aspects of Reconstruction, as blacks won election to southern state governments and even to the U.S. Congress. For its part, the Ku Klux Klan dedicated itself to an underground campaign of violence against Republican leaders and voters (both black and white) in an effort to reverse the policies of Radical Reconstruction and restore white supremacy in the South. They were joined in this struggle by similar organizations such as the Knights of the White Camelia (launched in Louisiana in 1867) and the White Brotherhood. At least 10 percent of the black legislators elected during the 1867-1868 constitutional conventions became victims of violence during Reconstruction, including seven who were killed. White Republicans (derided as “carpetbaggers” and “scalawags”) and black institutions such as schools and churches—symbols of black autonomy—were also targets for Klan attacks.

By 1870, the Ku Klux Klan had branches in nearly every southern state. Even at its height, the Klan did not boast a well-organized structure or clear leadership. Local Klan members–often wearing masks and dressed in the organization’s signature long white robes and hoods–usually carried out their attacks at night, acting on their own but in support of the common goals of defeating Radical Reconstruction and restoring white supremacy in the South. Klan activity flourished particularly in the regions of the South where blacks were a minority or a small majority of the population, and was relatively limited in others. Among the most notorious zones of Klan activity was South Carolina, where in January 1871 500 masked men attacked the Union county jail and lynched eight black prisoners.
The Ku Klux Klan and the End of Reconstruction
Though Democratic leaders would later attribute Ku Klux Klan violence to poorer southern whites, the organization’s membership crossed class lines, from small farmers and laborers to planters, lawyers, merchants, physicians and ministers
. In the regions where most Klan activity took place, local law enforcement officials either belonged to the Klan or declined to take action against it, and even those who arrested accused Klansmen found it difficult to find witnesses willing to testify against them. Other leading white citizens in the South declined to speak out against the group’s actions, giving them tacit approval. After 1870, Republican state governments in the South turned to Congress for help, resulting in the passage of three Enforcement Acts, the strongest of which was the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871.

For the first time, the Ku Klux Klan Act designated certain crimes committed by individuals as federal offenses, including conspiracies to deprive citizens of the right to hold office, serve on juries and enjoy the equal protection of the law. The act authorized the president to suspend the writ of habeas corpus and arrest accused individuals without charge, and to send federal forces to suppress Klan violence. This expansion of federal authority–which Ulysses S. Grant promptly used in 1871 to crush Klan activity in South Carolina and other areas of the South–outraged Democrats and even alarmed many Republicans. From the early 1870s onward, white supremacy gradually reasserted its hold on the South as support for Reconstruction waned; by the end of 1876, the entire South was under Democratic control once again.SOURCE

the 'tax' in Matthew 17:24-27 was not a Roman tax. it was a temple tribute 'for sanctification' -- and Jesus didn't pay it: He taught Peter that the children of kings are exempt from taxes, and instructed Peter to go catch a fish, in which he found a coin that covered both Peter's & Christ's 'temple tax' -- 'so that they would not give offense'

if you look at the Torah where this tribute originated from, Exodus 30, it is not at all clear that this was supposed to be a recurring fee for Jews -- it was to be collected "for atonement" when a census was taken. remember David taking a census? and getting in trouble over it? think about it.

so this isn't an example of Christ paying taxes.

the other place you may be referring to, 'render to Caesar what is Caesars' -- Jesus didn't have a coin. He asked that someone show Him one.

now, am not saying He taught against paying taxes. but to say, the message of these two things is not about paying taxes and honoring governments. it is something much deeper.

besides that -- 'voting' is not a requirement of the law. so you do not break a law by not voting. which is to say -- i don't see that you have a point at all by saying this? it doesn't answer the question. Jesus did not involve Himself in worldly politics. His apostles did not either. they did not advocate nor work toward political change nor did they seek political power. Jesus shirked political power. the apostles, well they didn't really have that opportunity lol -- although one could point out, Paul was on his way to a seat in the Sanhedrin, and he gave it up to pursue evangelism.

our citizenship is not of this world.
i believe, we ought to act like it is true.
so i am not a democrat, and i am utterly disgusted by Christians thinking the Republican party is the party of Christianity.

here is my view: Trump is a vain liar. the GOP manipulates the Christian church in America to equate itself as 'their party' and Trump pandered to them in order to gain votes in the SE states. every GOP candidate since Jerry Falwell has done exactly the same thing. the group of evangelical influencers who met with Trump either lied or were deceived when they said they thought Trump was a 'baby Christian' born again but showing no fruit and having no confession of faith and openly denying repentance. they were either somehow coerced or they were convinced that 'the greater good' of having a GOP-affiliated president who would probably nominate at least one conservative-leaning supreme court justice outwieghed the evil of lying to the church / misleading the church about Trump. their influence and the corresponding influence of thousands of pastors across the Bible belt who parroted their urging that all Christians 'must vote for Trump or else our country goes to hell' had a considerable influence on the vote. i think this is despicable, and it makes me sad to see people still under this spell.

my only advice is don't lie with your vote.
your vote means this is the person you respect and wish to be your nations leader and primary representative to the rest of the world.
if you don't truly respect him, and you are only voting 'against' someone else or 'against' some other perceived ideology - not literally 'for' a candidate -- in my view you should not vote at all; you are casting a lie.
this is the same advice i have given for 30 years. it has nothing to do with party or individuals.

i do not respect Trump, though i respect the office he currently holds. i do not trust him, i am ashamed that he leads our country. i will not vote for him. i will vote for whomever i think is honest, and who puts others before themselves. if i find no such person, i will not vote.
that's just me. make up your own minds. :)

"openness"

A couple things..

Your post screams sanctimonious person, who forgot where he came from..

You know, for myself, I used to be Muslim, worshipping what I'm fairly certain was satan, married at one point to a terrorist sympathizer (at best, and a would be terrorist, I believe) I had to protect the children I brought into this world from my own choices in life for goodness sake.

God saved me from myself.. I've got nothing to be sanctimonious about, and the majority of Christians here in the U.S. know exactly who we once were and don't sit around looking down our nose at others, saved or not.

Trump is Trump. I find it doubtful he is Christian, but I never thought Cruz was the definition of Christianity either..

Ben Carson, now he was, and I may have voted for him in the primaries if he'd still been in the race when the primaries came to my state, my husband's entire family would have.. But the fact is God pulled him out... that wasn't a job for a believer and follower of Christ this go around.

Nero Ceasar was leader of Rome during some of the time the new Testament letters were being written, yet you don't have political activism discussed, quite the contrary they were told:

Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing.”

Seriously.. I'm fairly certain there isn't a Ceasar better than Trump.. And God put him in place too, against all odds.

I remember the overwhelming feeling I got that God wanted Trump in the seat of president. I told my husband who calmly said that if God wanted to put Trump in as president he would and it wouldn't matter what anyone did, because God is God..

And God did. My husband and i hadn't voted for years, my husband in particular hadn't voted since Reagan.. all over this country people were voting that hadn't been voting, all voting for Trump..

We all, at the same time had an overwhelming feeling that 1.) we had to vote and 2) we had to vote for Trump..

all at the same time.

It was weird really, but true, and may have saved the country from being overtaken for another generation..

Of course I don't know that for sure, but there's a reason for all of this, and it's definitely God's reason.

so you can sit on some high horse declaring yourself better than any sinner who thinks he's Christian because Pastors who think they are tell him so, or you can see the Hand of God at work.

I'm sure it's your choice and you've already decided what it will be, I just disliked the tone as you looked down your nose at others because you forgot you also had to be saved from yourself.

Roughly 50 Billion dollars a year are budgeted for foreign aid, it's near impossible to figure a true number since foreign aid comes from numerous Federal agencies and federally funded charities in the form of cash, equipment, manpower, and food. That number doesn't include off budget emergency disaster relief that gets pushed through due to natural disasters, etc.
Not to mention the Christian Charities and the millions/billions they give......as well as individuals like Bill Gates. Don't care for his Politics, but hard to argue with what he and his wife do in the realm of Charitable Giving.

Name a Democrat who is better? Also I agree with most policies being pushed or defended. Plus conservative judges on the supreme and lower courts, pro life orders, pro Israel acts, better trade deals, economy is doing great, stock markets have been hitting all time highs, African and Hispanic American unemployment rate has drastically decreased, border security is being addressed, religious freedom protections, prescription drug prices are to be cheaper under a new buy out of country policy, EPA less restrictive allowing businesses to come home or work more effectively, a good Christian Vice President, surrounds himself with many Christian leaders all throughout the year, very open and straightforward, has stood up to Russia, China, North Korea, Iran. Also ended the Iranian nuclear deal just to name some off the top of my head.
A lot of these are good ideas.......problem is.........they are just that......good ideas........ The "conservative courts" have done precious little to curb the actions of the liberal courts and their rulings for the past 50 years. Little is being done for Pro Life, which is really anti abortion, pro trade isn't pro trade with excessive tariffs, Border Security is questionable........truth is........Obama deported more illegals than Trump has.......and that IS SAD........Obama built more miles of Wall than Trump has.....and that IS SAD.........prescription drugs are at an all time high in cost, and the idea to let cheap drugs come in from Canada probably will not come to pass........Big Pharm has a lot of sway with Congress....... agree with Pence......good guy........as for standing up to......it's been more like standing shoulder to shoulder with hasn't it? When did the Nuke deal end? The Auto Industry continues to build more vehicles in Foreign lands than here in the US.........and many Corporations are still using the cheaper labor in Foreign Countries..........true about the Minority unemployment rate........that is good but he won't get credit for it........the Market fluxes as it will........don't be surprised to see in in a downward trend before Years end............Keep him off of Twitter, that would be a great start!

Find a way to curb his incessant overselling stuff......bragging......exaggerating, and lying........he does all of it far too much IMO............are there any Dems better?

NONE that are running for President.........BUT there are a whole bunch of Repubs/Conservatives who are head and shoulders better! Pence and Duncan Hunter (Cal) the son are the top two IMO

A lot of these are good ideas.......problem is.........they are just that......good ideas........ The "conservative courts" have done precious little to curb the actions of the liberal courts and their rulings for the past 50 years. Little is being done for Pro Life,

( Maybe in the past decades but the atmosphere has shifted and things are becoming very energetic for conservatives. They are winning all throughout the country if your paying attention. For one example. https://www.theatlantic.com/politic...-hands-a-win-to-the-pro-life-movement/563738/)

which is really anti abortion,

( Yes abortion isnt Biblical)

pro trade isn't pro trade with excessive tariffs,

( Tariffs are his way of getting countries to the negotiating table for better trade deals. If it works then future Americans will benefit greatly. If they dont then we continue being used and taken advantage of.)

Border Security is questionable........truth is........Obama deported more illegals than Trump has.......and that IS SAD........

( Many factors here. First they defined deportations differently under Obama, Obama was in Office for 8 years, Obama did not have the opposition from the courts, media and state governments defending illegals. Also not sad but good. Good for America if both Presidents was and is fighting illegal immigration.)

Obama built more miles of Wall than Trump has.....and that IS SAD.........

( I cannot find this statement when researched. But I do remember that President Obama did very little for border security)

prescription drugs are at an all time high in cost, and the idea to let cheap drugs come in from Canada probably will not come to pass........Big Pharm has a lot of sway with Congress.......

( Yes all time high which is why President Trump has begun to fight Big Pharma. https://www.naturalnews.com/2017-01...-industry-about-25-billion-in-20-minutes.html )

agree with Pence......good guy........as for standing up to......it's been more like standing shoulder to shoulder with hasn't it?

(You will have to be more specific)

When did the Nuke deal end?

( Back in May 2018. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...aw-effect-europe-rouhani-latest-a8343496.html )

The Auto Industry continues to build more vehicles in Foreign lands than here in the US.........and many Corporations are still using the cheaper labor in Foreign Countries..........

( Things do not happen overnight but fact is many companies are returning. Here was 10 for example.
https://investorplace.com/2017/01/10-companies-bringing-jobs-back-to-america/ )

true about the Minority unemployment rate........that is good but he won't get credit for it........the Market fluxes as it will........don't be surprised to see in in a downward trend before Years end............

(Possibly but that is only related to many factors)

Keep him off of Twitter, that would be a great start!

( Social media is okay for a way to get past the corrupt media but I do agree he could still be just as bull dog but with some more thought to the use of words and sentence structure.)

Find a way to curb his incessant overselling stuff......bragging......exaggerating, and lying........he does all of it far too much IMO............are there any Dems better?

( Nothing wrong with selling stuff, or reminding his voters of his achievements and why they should continue to vote for him, as for lying you will also have to be specific as to what was the lie.)

NONE that are running for President.........BUT there are a whole bunch of Repubs/Conservatives who are head and shoulders better! Pence and Duncan Hunter (Cal) the son are the top two IMO

(Of course there are better Godly men and woman running for office. But currently they are viewed as far right conservatives. Just as far left Democrats will not win due to loss of middle ground votes the far right conservatives will not win either atleast until which idealogy wins over Americans. If socialism wins the minds of Americans then future generations will be desensitized to that ideology where as if conservatives win over the minds then the next generations will be more sensitized to Gods established morality. Right now God is in revival mode, the church has awoken and every God fearing Patriot is now standing against these false ideas, showing up to vote, and debates are finally being had to shed light on which ideas are wise, true, and in accordance to reality.)

It's just speculation for now.........the majority of it.

As for that last part, neither Pence or Hunter are viewed as far right conservatives..........There is a lot wrong with selling stuff as "the greatest ever.........." simply because what he has done has yet to rise to that level except for in his mind and the minds of those who blindly support him.......

Lies? seriously? Goodness............where to start? Do a "search" and count for yourself. IF the decline of the Markets are "related to many factors," so is the rise.....thus, to give Trump the credit for one, we must give him credit for the other as well.......it's just the way it is.

Fighting back against Big Pharm is great. I wish him luck. But, the problem is (and has been since he first ran for Office) that he can not do very much on his own. He needs both Houses of Congress and a supportive SCOTUS to do anything earthshaking or some such. He HAD all that the first two years, and what happend? He did NOT have the overwhelming support of the Republicans in Congress........ The few major achievements really were accomplished by McConnell and the Repubs in Congress........ As with the SCOTUS appointment. Trump nominated, but his Staff failed to convert one single Dem to vote for the Nominee. McConnell had to step in and pull the trigger on the Nuclear Option to get the Nominee appointed. Tax cuts/changes........... same thing. The Congress pulled it off.

No wall
No death blow to Obama Care
Not a single action against Abortion on Demand passed

Still...............in spite of what I can only rate as an "average" first term..........he may be better than any Dem running. I haven't really paid attention to them because I'm simply not interested.

Trump is no "savior" of the Conservative Movement!

Anyway, to each his own...........I don't really care........my life has reached a stage where the games Politicians play don't have a realistic effect on me.......so why bother?

The minimum wage here in Arkansas is $9.25 per hour, or $370 a week if one works 40 hours.
If a person buys real food, not chips, sodas, frozen pizza, or stuff you just stick in the microwave, it is not at all hard to feed a family on that income.
And most people do get raises unless they are a just not productive at all.

Probable not so Calif. or New York, but who in their right mind would live there.
Who in their right mind would live there? CA is the base where TBN, world-wide Cristian TV, originated. It is the home of Mosaic, Bethel, Crenshaw Christian Cntr, and my church Harvest Christian Cntr where Pastor Greg Laurie speaks. In a couple of weeks he will host Harvest Crusade at Angel Stadium where hundreds of thousands will hear the salvation message. These are only a drop in the bucket of great ministries here.
