Guys why do you do that? Walk away all of a sudden when things are going smoothly? Ladies how do you deal with such cowards who do the disappearing act?

Rage some, cry some, forgive them, "forget" them.

Let them disappear. :)

And if they re-appear, ask them to disappear again.

"Why do some men disappear?"

Why, alien abductions, of course.

Usually because of fear. Fear of commitment, fear of confrontation, fear of vulnerability.

But never let someone else's actions make you question your self worth.

In all seriousness... I have to ask, was this disappearance in an online situation? It's all too common with both men and women.

The number one reason I've found for this behavior is that they like attention from a lot of people. They disappear because they're married, already in a relationship, and/or wooing someone else.

They come back to you when they aren't getting enough attention from their other interests or after they've been dumped by someone else. I've seen this cycle happen time and time again, even from the most popular and "Godly"-sounding people on some of the sites I've been on. They keep using their popularity to deceive others and break their hearts, and I have no idea why it doesn't seem to bother them at all.

I've been in several situations in which guys like to see me as The Fallout Girl. We start talking. They like someone else and tell me all about her. They ride off into the sunset with said girl. The sun eventually sets and the storms come crashing in. Then they suddenly reappear because they want a female shoulder to cry on and also see me as "The Spare" (a female they might be able to start something with if their number one pick doesn't work out). I've finally gotten smart and cut anyone like this out of my life.

I'm a lot happier, and you will be too if you cut people like this out of your life.

Now of course sometimes people do have a legitimate reason, such as a family illness.

But the number one reason I've seen this happen is because you are not the only one they're trying to talk to.

I'm guessing for the same reasons women do it.

Thank you for your very helpful thoughts seoul. Kamsahamnida...

It was just an online thing so fortunately it was not that messy. You are right he was just seeking for attention. It was my exact words to him that he was just attention seeking...i said it as a joke but he misunderstood. I didnt mean to trigger a switch and said sorry but he disappeared without a word. You are right im better off without him. Do people like that ever change? Or is that a hopeless psyhological or behavioral problem of narcissists or people with irrational sense of entitlement?

Posible realization what they are going to get involved in? Relationship, arrrrrrghhh ! panic, Marriage aaaaargggh panic, Kids aaaaarggh Paniic. the moans and groans of every day life, aaaaargh, panic, commitment, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHH HELP HyperVentulating panic. Also its down to compromize, Some woman wnat more than what a man can give, and VISA VERSA. The thought of trying to keep up with womens high demands. And VICE VERSA.

At the end of the day. Man and women think they can go it alone in there relationships without God in the middle. Hence why a good majority of marriages fail. what ever way you look at it. the truth is there, no God in the middle of any relationship. No real success in longer marriages.

Perhaps why men, and Women disappear, all those thoughts combined has hit him like a ton of bricks. Same goes for women too.

I get that part...but why can they just say it and end everything with dignity. What about proper closure? And being mature and responsible?

Whenever that happens, I always take it as God protecting from something hat could have been detrimental to me. Even though I'm hurt now, I'll be way happier later :)
