Some people don’t like to say goodbye.
Some people think it will hurt you if they say good bye, and so they just disappear.
Some people prefer that others just let them be, as if they were wild animals. That others just let them come and go as they need. Some people are just different.
Maybe we should be glad for those who disappear. Maybe we should be glad that they are different. Maybe we should be glad that we are always here for when they want to return. Maybe they have a different task in life. Maybe their journey is more than they can bear. Maybe life became too rough.
I could go on, but I think we all can come up with reasons why a person just disappears. Some are positive, some are acceptable, some are unacceptable. We need to have understanding and compassion concerning their position. They might be wrong, or as is very possible you might be wrong, or it may be that nobody is wrong. Different people deal with things in different ways.
Jonah 4:9-11
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death. [SUP]10 [/SUP]Then said the Lord, Thou hast had pity on the gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night: [SUP]11 [/SUP]and should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?
Matthew 7:12
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
So, how would you want others to treat you or talk about you, if you disappeared without a word?
I’ll answer this question in respect to myself right now:
If I ever disappear without a word, then please understand that I had a very good reason and you probably won’t ever know this reason. Please show me mercy and don’t talk bad about me; and if I ever return please show me mercy and accept me back with open arms.
If I ever disappear without a word, then please don’t blame yourself, I love you regardless of who you are or what you have done. Please understand that I am different, and please accept me the way I am.
