I seem to attract a really weird assortment of men, but none that are really a good fit. The nonbelievers are the most supportive and accepting while the Christians try to shape me into the woman they feel they deserve. Been there, done that, not ever going back again.

I'm praying to meet the right man, but I have to accept that it may never happen. I have no strong physical preferences. A man's character is what's really important: ambition, kindness, gratitude, and strength, for starters.

Sorry to hear that Misty,
all in God's time. Its not how many you attract, but when God leads the right man to you!

I do not attract anyone...good or bad...in a romantic or attractive way. The great thing about this is the revelation that God gave me regarding this. When it became clear to me that I truly do not attract men to flirt/date/marry me, I thought, "Hmmmm...I wonder why." Not like in a random "I wish" way, but rather in a "everyone attracts someone some way" way. :) Then God said: You're not rejected, you're protected.

My Father in heaven is protecting me. That makes my whole "no guys are interested" life beautiful :)

I truly believe Jesus is the attraction to all the certain type of guys who seem to be attracted to the certain type of girl's. I also think that when we are looking to avoid a certain type of guy the first thing we notice in the new guy noticing us is the "certain" quality we are not looking for in them. Because we are so against whatever that might be, we secretly search to make sure it is not there, but in theory most of us have that quality as generally we are most alike than not. In doing this we miss the bigger picture of who they are, as we are so focused on what he might have that we don't want, then we never get to see the good side of him or only see it when it is to late. Our perspective is our reality, not always a true reflection hey?

Hope I was able to put my thoughts on paper, a difficult task at times lol

I had to come back about the whole faith thing and attracting mostly atheists.
Many of the atheist guys I attract are gentlemen and quite charming. They don't expect me to be special and they're really open about things- they talk about their weaknesses with me and they are protective over me like a brother should be. On the other hand, the few christian guys that have told me that they were interested tend to write me off for not being the perfect girl for them. They expect God to give them someone with all the qualities they already love, rather than learning to love what qualities someone has. This brings up the whole virgin debate. Do any of us NEED a virgin? Do we deserve one? Does having your virginity make you a prize? INB4 "premarital sex is a sin." Yes, I understand that. My point is, why do we think we deserve anything in this world other than respect?
I'll stop here because I feel a little rambling coming on ;)
We deserve cake too. :D

Do you attract the wrong people constantly?

I attract Too short
and keep in mind I am 5'9" and with heels I am close to 6 ft. so too short is an issue. :)
too old, too young, atheist, agnostic or backslidden or lukewarmers (the ones who are like 95% christian
but they want to sleep with a woman on the 5th date)

I probably could name more things but I am just curious if the rest of you, male and female as christians
notice that the types of people you attract are usually wrong for you completely? or that you are also wrong for? :)
(I'll check answers later tonight.. I have fellowship/study meeting)
As Christians alternatively, is the wider problem that we have these ideas of attraction which cause problems for dating and marrying, in general? Have we become too like the world...?

Because some of these answers tell me this.. it looks like often times it's a spiritual thing.. I think someone also suggested that..but it really is.. one girl attracts bi polar.. I USED to attract addicts and needy guys and now I attract backslidden, agnostic or atheist.. the enemy of our souls knows our hearts desire that love of the opposite sex and thinks we are weak, using that weakness to try to deter us from our purposes..and to distract us from our callings and what He really wants for us. :) so.. I guess that we just stand, keep firm and above all guard our hearts!
Maybe lots of Christians have problems and the samples of men and women from the dating community are reflected in this regard. More Christians are just likely to have problems to others in the world. Jesus says to us to come out of the world, but have we, is the question.

I seem to attract old guys, what is it with guys who are like 60+ who think I would go out with them. Eeeew it's my dad's age no thanks. I laugh at the ones who say they are Christian yet want to sleep with you and when you say not I don't have sex until I am married they are shocked LOL What does Christian mean? obviously not the same in everyone's books. They want to try before they buy, to me that shows the lack of commit they have towards me and our future relationship if they are that shallow.
Gosh you and I must have met the same men, I have stories!!:) lol
funny ones (oh wait!! my next thread starter! ) haha
yea, makes me wonder about them but I just say .. NEXT:)

Thank you Donkey..
maybe I didn't? but
if he meant that as christians we shouldn't be pure, give up drinking (or getting drunk anyway), or be holy ( ultra conservative??)
then I wasn't misunderstanding :)

thank you for going to bat for me :)

appreciate ya!
well hilariously by ultra-conservativei meant like super-republican which does have anything to do with christianity. Nowhere in the bible are we given commands to avoid alcohol altoghter even Jesus turned water into wine, so people who believe in total abstinence have it wrong in my mind. And prudish well we already discussed that.

I think women are just going to have to come to terms with the fact that there will be way more women in heaven then men.

Bad for them, good for us!

But... it doesn't seem to get some of us dates. Maybe we smell or something?

I attract state troopers. But that's because I hate the front-mounted plate (I eventually caved), and I shirk on using turn signals when I don't see visible traffic (I *am* a New Mexican after all.)

Better to attract black-and-whites over locals, though; troopers are super generous with warnings. Local DPS is merciless.

Hilarious, Rachel. Me too! I prefer children to mosquitoes but some of the former are like the latter.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the reason there will be no marriage on the New Heaven and the New Earth (besides the Triune God and his Bride).
