Cinderella is written from a female point of view, so we're not supposed to relate to the prince as men as women can with Cinderella. It's just not possible. Speaking of the adaptions by Disney, I always thought more retro Disney princes were lame anyway, to be honest, these princesses are a little old fashioned, I get it, a product of its time, but wait, the princes just seem so bland. LOL
Also, another thing I found odd about old Disney movies, the concept that the supporting characters would be more active, the mice, the fairy godmothers in Sleeping Beauty, the dwarfs in Snow White. Him and her seemed to get together because of the intervention of third parties saving the day, but that's just an aside.
I also once heard an interesting concept about (ducks) pornography (ducks)... some men watch some of that stuff which totally does not even have male performers because they'll invariably resent that person on screen. Men view other men as competition, all that jazz. If it were the farmboy on screen, we'd come up with a reason to dislike him too, who knows? At the end of the day, that person isn't you. LOL
Maybe women have an easier to allowing themselves to use movies/tv shows/books to find avatars. A lot of people say Bella in Twilight is as blank state as you can get so teen girls could live out their fantasy of a vampire who would obsessively love them. Yikes.
This is the danger of looking to anything that is not real to shape your perceptions, resentment and anger and self pity are not good looks on anyone. That's why looking to Jesus is always, no expectations, is the best bet. 100% of the time.
