when someone gave a complement with these few words in response to me sharing my prayers to them: your words and the bible verse you share, thank you, you have no idea what it means to me

and it's best when it's unexpected

I can say with definite assurance that guys do you like to be complemented in different ways than women.

I had a person that I was dating in the past called me “sexy“ and I absolutely hated it. Beautiful was fine or pretty but sexy to me is just objectifying someone. But I found out that he wanted me to “complement” him in the same way. And when I said I didn’t like it instead of saying “OK I’m sorry“ he would say “why not?“

IMHO, he was not likely a genuine Christian man. Given his response sounds like a one track minded dog...
