"So rather than posting a bunch of verses about how God sees Homosexuality and Gay Marriage, I thought I would use reason. The People who have engaged in this know which side of the issue God is for, they know what they are doing. But sometimes its up to us to make each other realize just how silly the people who oppose the truth are. "

I do not agree with the statement about using reason it will not work. The bunch of verses that most use to show why gay marriage and homosexuality is wrong is the reason. God said it. It is peole who reason with in themselves to make what God has made or planned to be into what they want it to be. Marriage is the plan of God, the idea that marriage is only for children is not true, God in Gen chapter 2 we see God saw it was not good for man to be alone and He made for man the perfect person for him. God plan for Adam not to be alone was Eve. Christ has not changed that plan nor does He support Gay Marriage, as scripture shows us Jesus blessed a wedding in doing the first recorded Miracle at one between a man and women.

Now to the issue of the United States or another Country passing or making Laws that support gay marriage or the gay sexual prefernce, doesn't change what God said about it. If you study history and I am talking 60's, 70's, and 80's you will see the plan to force this sexual prefernce on us all, thru the American Psychological Association (APA) which called it a life style, and have over 12% gays who are making this assertion. The teachers in our public schools who teach it and live it and influence this sexual preference the break down of the family those who are married, and the single mother raising children without the father to help( dead beat dad's) teach these young boys how to be men, yes we do learn that from our fathers, or we learn it from the system which now supports the gay sexual prefernce. It is the clear grouping of three different sexual preferences like bi-sexual, and transgender and gay to achieve more numbers as we see in gay and straight clubs in our schools.

I can go on with many reasons ( tongue in cheek) why homosexuality is. Cause and effect however, on a Christian Forum where those who say they are one and believe the Bible to be the word of God and what He says about Homosexuality, drunkenness, adultery, murder, lying, stealing, etc... as SIN against HIM! IS THE ONLY REASON why a Christian cannot support it nor should they accept it even if the country, laws, or people do.

Many institutions in society use the phrase "sexual orientation" in
association with one's sexuality. The term orientation is unfairly
slanted towards left-leaning activist groups to support their claim
that because of inborn genetic tendencies homosexuals can not change.
The scientific consensus on homosexuality is that it is a due to a
complex interaction of environmental and genetic factors. This is the
same as the scientific consensus lifestyles for alcoholism, gluttony,
and pathological deceit." Regardless of whether or not tendencies are
genetic, the lifestyle choice is up to the individual. I have created
this petition to encourage organizations to present a more balanced
view of homosexual lifestyle choices and to remove the prejudicious
label that implies that homosexuals can not change. Please join me in
signing this petition at

Join me in adding your name to the list to promote a change that would
make a real difference in the lives of those who are deceived into
thinking that there is no choice but for them to be gay, share this
with your friends, and help me get this to go viral so that we can make
a stand for what is right.

I'm going to ignore everything above and say this: If two people want to be committed, love each other, and start a family, why not let them do so? Imagine humanity living in a world where homosexuality was "the norm" if you will. How would you feel if you were a man who loved a woman, or a woman who loved a man? You would be shocked when someone tell you the love you felt for your partner was illegitimate, because it does not happen often in nature. You'd be heartbroken, and confused. This is how homosexuals and bisexuals feel. Not only is homosexuality present in almost every species of animal on planet earth, but it is an enlightening thing. Why should love be confined to a man and a woman? It shouldn't.

Liamson, if you are so intent to put your foot down and give in to hatred, then do so, but know that it will only get you into deeper trouble. Children and teenagers are DYING. Committing suicide because they've been driven to believe they are horrible monsters, condemned to hell and excluded from society because of who they love. They don't know why they feel that way about other people of the same sex, but everyone else seems to think they had a choice. If your child was a homosexual, would you put your foot down then? Would you beat them until they stopped their behavior, or would you tell them how God hates them for what they've succumbed to? No. They didn't have a choice, but yet they are subjected to ridicule and labelled with horrible names. Fag, homo, queer? These words have great effect on mental stability in children, and if they are not exposed to acceptance, they will become the future lunatics that plague our society, that or they'll kill themselves to spare you the trouble.

Those who oppose gay marriage, or any form of homosexuality are doing their part to cause chaos amongst us all.

I love how people bring threads up from the dead after they've been killed.

I once had a client argue with me about how he wanted the floor in his barn to be built. I tried to explain to him that it could just not be done the way that he wanted. I further tried to explain the necessity of a sound support structure for the barn floor to withstand the equipment that he wanted to park on it. He continued to argue becoming even more furious that I would not agree to build the floor the way that he wanted. I finally just told him that I refused to build it the way he wanted and that he would have to try to find someone else to do it that way. As I walked out of barn, he shouted to me "What happened to 'the customer is always right'?"

I turned back towards him and nodded, "Yes, the customer IS always right... EXCEPT for when they are wrong." I shrugged, turned, and walked away leaving him with a puzzled look on his face.

This is what I think of when I hear arguments about gay marriage. One can argue all they want that something should be able to be changed to their liking... EVEN when it is impossible to be changed.

I have heard the EXACT same argument you have given here applied to people that prefer animals (bestiality), children (pedophiles), and incest. They CLAIM that they just cannot help their sexual preferences. IF your argument IS valid, then these people should also be allowed to legally practice their sexual preferences as well if both parties are consenting, right? I am guessing that you would have to agree with this otherwise you would be a hypocrite. Or maybe... just maybe you have some things to think about.

I grew up with a lot of gay friends, mostly as a teenager. One of my closest friends is gay and has had the same parter for about 19 years. He and I met in the 9th grade, when high school was over after he'd been bullied, ridiculed, beaten up and this was all while he was still in the closet, he confessed to me that he is gay. I already knew. He struggled, prayed about it, he went through Hell dealing with it. Markum I respect you're opinon always however I think comparing this to a sexual predator or bestiality and incest is incorrect. I do think some are born this way and that's just my opinon.

I love my friend and I love his partner, I pray for them and I know they both have a relationship with Jesus. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind. This is just my experience with it.

^^^This. No.

It bugs me when people use the "imagine if..." thing as though it is a valid argument for believing the way they do. I don't mind you believing it, that's your own problem and I will never agree with you, but giving us a "what if" situation that WOULD NOT HAPPEN doesn't lend any credibility or truth to your argument. We could all start doing that, coming up with scenarios designed to elicit emotion from our opponents so that they will have to agree or else look like unfeeling monsters...or we could base our statements on fact (i.e. scripture, perhaps...) and leave less room for misunderstanding and manipulation (not that people don't twist the Word still...*sigh*).

I wrote it on a paper for my History teacher (who's a conservative Christian) that one of the reasons I don't support gay marriage is, there's too much potential for it to override church rights. Examples:

1. If there is a gay couple who wants to get married, but the pastor says no because he doesn't support it, what's gonna happen? It only takes one person to make it viral, one person to sue, and not too long it will become ANOTHER Civil Liberties case saying that you HAVE to marry them or else. Bye-bye, Separation of Church and State.

2. There is a hate speech law in Canada. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a pastor speaks against gay couples, they have the right to shut that church down. The same ideology can very well go further south, into the U.S. and if enough people get this idea, THAT will eventually get established as a law. And if it's not, people will make it EXTREMELY hard for those who speak out to go out onto the streets and into stores. There goes the 1st amendment.

What rights do we REALLY want? Who are we going to fight for? We need to ask ourselves these questions. Because the two rights can't coexist.

I will stand firm in that God did not create man in any image other than His.

Born in sin is born in sin whether a man lusts after animals or anything else that is an abomination in the sight of God.

Friendship with the world is enmity against God. We ARE to change our minds; without this there is no repentance of sins. Without changing our minds, there is no seeking FIRSTLY the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

I love them too and have compassion towards them. It is because of that love that I would not have any perish to unrighteousness. Open rebuke is better than secret love.

Jesus did not tell the adulturess, "It's OK... go ahead and be an adulteress. I will accept you anyways because I love you."
He said, "There is no one to condemn you. Now go and sin NO MORE." That is what He said because He loved her.

<----used to be a homosexual and thought she was born gay...was ridiculed and bullied as well....but Christ gave me a wake up call. No one is born gay. No one is born straight. It is simply a matter of choice. Sexual orientation is not hereditary.

History has shown us that a nation overwhelmed with the evil of homosexuality comes to ruin- therefore it effects us all.
