By now, you have probably figured out that Oncefallen was just making a funny - today is Valentines Day.

On Valentines Day, most singles are very aware of their 'singleness'...

(Especially, if they are continually reminded by the commercialism aspect of it.)

Ah, okay! I guess I just don't mind as much as other people who are actively looking for spouses. I do feel bad for the single people who aren't enjoying this day though. 😬

Jalapeno cornbread and chicken and dumplings...

I didn't plan it that way. That's just how it worked out.

How many of you will be doing something special for yourselves today?

This evening, I hope to finish my backpack project. It's been a long time since the custom camo design, specialized mil spec fabric, hardware, learning how to use the machine right, designing the unique pack structure and now finally putting it all together. Maybe I'll take it out to get some chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate.

It's just as well. I really couldn't tell you what you're missing. You strike me as wholy whole all, even with no 'other half.' As a matter a faact, it's a might irritating being looked upon to as a 'half'...:cautious:
Yeah. I don't understand the "Well you just HAVE to find somebody" any more than I understand the "I can't STAND being alone!" I don't mind at all being alone with myself. I'm not all that bad to be around. And I'm certainly not an incomplete person.

Turns out I did in fact buy myself something for Valentine's Day. I just found out the makers of the ThinkPad laptop also make a ThinkPhone.

Why has nobody told me about this before now?!

So I placed an order for that and for a USB-C to HDMI adapter (with power pass-through so I can charge and use the video output at the same time) to function with an old screen I have lying around.

Oh, and I also may have placed an order on ebay for a PowerSpec 1710 gaming laptop...

I'm playing Fallout 4 until church tonight.

I melted some port du salut into some coconut cream (unsweetened) and scrambled six eggs in it for breakfast. I think that should count. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Maybe it shouldn't count. I'm big on breakfast, so I do stuff like that five or six days a week. If I did that for supper, THAT would be extraordinary.
I had a Jimmy Dean breakfast bowl this morning (sausage % gravy). Eat those all of the time, with toast / Jam, OJ.

Are singles that way because no one loves them or because they love no one?
A both-or-neither "trick" question...

I think I will go with 'both'. ;)

The only way to be able to answer the question honestly requires that you first have someone to love.

An article from the Manila Times shared some trivia about Valentine's Day:

There is a sad reason for giving chocolates for Valentine's Day, physicians would recommend chocolates to people suffering from a broken heart.

Alexander Graham Bell applied for a patent on the telephone on Valentine's Day; and

The first antibiotic, Penicillin, was introduced on Valentine's Day, or VD for short.

One of my favorite things to eat is gravy over homemade biscuits. It doesn't bother me to eat breakfast foods anytime of the day.

Another favorite breakfast item is French toast.

How many of you will be doing something special for yourselves today?
I got two days off from work (the 15th and today the 16th), and I enjoyed that by enjoying a night (the 14th) without rushing to do stuff so I could be in bed before 11pm. Other than that, I cannot (and do not want to) romance myself. There might be another word for that, and I'm trying to lay off :D
