She asked...... "not here."
Twas about why I think you are really Christian, just transitioned well is all. To which I'd also add that video particularly and your love, you being one of the more senior members here caring much after my generation is the very reason that endeared you to me in the time past when I was known of you.

Also hehehe while hilariously put, I never thought of you as much of a mess frankly. You gotta be the youngest looking old guy on here! I'd be lucky to look halfway so decent at 71. Then again part of my personality and boldness makes me think I will definitely be put to death well before I ever near that age by the people I love most. Quite a recurring theme for me I find a lot in this life, heheheheh.

To bring the thread back on topic: If that guy is gone does that mean I'm considered a real christian again? Or does my pharisee status remain independent of him? =^.^=

Well since the only one who wasn't sure about your right of membership is gone, we're happy to welcome you back into the real Christians club. That is as long as you can follow everything written in our rulebook that is twice the size of the Bible.

Don't forget signing this SMALL (about the size of a phone book) waiver, donating your right kidney (you may keep the sinful left kidney), parroting back everything we say right down (including any and all punctuation, whether or not it is correct), and of course, a HUGE cash donation (and/or, major credit card number.)

Welcome back to the fold, Mr. Pharisee! :D

So does this mean we're forming the Seoul cinder cult...oops I mean church? Because we know all those other denominations are tainted and have just got it flat out wrong.

Oddly enough, marriage involves as much to maintain a current membership. I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

I'd automatically vote you in as Her Royal Highness Cult Leader, I mean, Keeper(ette) of the Flock.

I work best as a slightly deranged minor minion.

Kind of like this one:

(It even has my hairstyle and expression when I first get up in the morning.)

A very fitting likeness, all-around. :D

How do I... Hm.

"mmm, day 4, no coffee. sharing with roommates is hard. napping just a minute ago, so sweet! jerked out of sleep by one of them ranting at top volume right next to my bedroom door about star wars and whatever else. crankyyyyy me xD this is why i prefer caffeine to booze. at least with the caffeine i'm less likely to act like a complete jerk!"

I believe that I am a hopeless sinner, at the mercy of an Almighty, Sovereign God who chose to send His Son Jesus Christ, to lay down His life for my sins. My only hope is in the fact that Jesus paid the eternal price for my inescapable sin:

This ^^^^ should be the title of the thread.

To God be the glory!

The biggest problem and struggle I have with churches (and many Christians) is that they think answers like this are sufficient. When the real question should be (and I'm opening this up to everyone, because most everyone of us knows that the above is the right textbook answer) how does that belief affect your life, and how will it continue to effect your life? Or to put it another way, how does that belief influence and define your reality?

Yes you are right and I am the same and so are all people. May mercy be shown to you and through mercy shall God's name be praised.

Your profession of faith hits the core of Christianity, and I appreciate you sharing your feelings on your walk with Christ. Others' judgment is something we each struggle with, and I am especially bad about it! I want so badly to simplify my faith to a laundry list of things to do/not do. However, we're blessed with a God who calls us to a deeper faith, and as we dig deeply, we're showered with His grace. When I struggle with allowing a judgmental person stand between me and the Cross, I have found this article by Focus on the Family to be helpful, "What About Hypocrites in the Church?" They have SO many audio resources that have encouraged me in my walk with Christ.

Have you considered seeking a Christ-focused church? You are diligently seeking the Truth of Christ, and what better way than to encourage others while you do it, all while learning from them as well? Although the online forums may seem like many nay-sayers, in reality there are so many welcoming churches you can call home. Going alone in our faith can be so discouraging!

You've made me consider new aspects of my faith through this discussion, and I appreciate you reaching out! I look forward to seeing you across the pearly gates, but until then, here's to much personal growth for us both!
