Your profession of faith hits the core of Christianity, and I appreciate you sharing your feelings on your walk with Christ. Others' judgment is something we each struggle with, and I am especially bad about it! I want so badly to simplify my faith to a laundry list of things to do/not do. However, we're blessed with a God who calls us to a deeper faith, and as we dig deeply, we're showered with His grace. When I struggle with allowing a judgmental person stand between me and the Cross, I have found this article by Focus on the Family to be helpful, "What About Hypocrites in the Church?" They have SO many audio resources that have encouraged me in my walk with Christ.
Have you considered seeking a Christ-focused church? You are diligently seeking the Truth of Christ, and what better way than to encourage others while you do it, all while learning from them as well? Although the online forums may seem like many nay-sayers, in reality there are so many welcoming churches you can call home. Going alone in our faith can be so discouraging!
You've made me consider new aspects of my faith through this discussion, and I appreciate you reaching out! I look forward to seeing you across the pearly gates, but until then, here's to much personal growth for us both!
