Maybe an hour...
I think it's important for a couple to really get to know each other before marriage. And in order for that to happen, they need to spend a lot of time together in person. :)

Amen. My X n I rushed into a relationship without really knowing each other. I regret that n think I was not in Gods will for my like. We had lots of issues n we both made mistakes. It wasn’t all just his fault. But I loved him enough to try n work it out. He didn’t or his PTSD wouldn’t allow him to let go completely n trust. It’s sad but it is what it is.....God is good all the time.

I'm so sorry you went through that, sis. God is so good even through our trials, right? :)

Idk I've talked to a few guys online and recently got out of a three year relationship due to him cheating and right now I kind of want to message a guy and travel across states to knock on their door and say their dreams are about to come true. But I'm not that crazy lol.

the city I live in and the state of the roads and congestion means that its quite difficult (and expensive) to date someone who lives across town. If it takes more than 45 minutes to go and see someone Im like no.
A 45 minutes distance is nothing for me(but I understand) 😂 if I like the guy or if we are in a serious relationship. If we want something we push ourselves...we learn to make sacrifices and we learn to adjust what works best for both of you. Now, if for example the guy you are dating thinks 45 minutes is too far for him then say bye! immediately don't chase someone who thinks you are not worthy of his time 😊

it reminds me of those games used to play in school...like Tiggy. Never got the point of it. Or hide and seek.
I preferred ones like hopscotch or skipping or elastics, or handball.

How many times have you been married?
Three times. First was in 1978. Bad wife, refused to help out at home, cheated on me. She eventually filed for divorce. Divorce final in 1984. Single and celibate for 18 years. Remarried wonderful second wife in 2002. She died in early 2014. Remarried to my current and last wife in late 2014. Beautiful spiritual woman. Very much happily married.

So long distance dating is nothing new, but now it's way easier to talk to anyone across any barrier in an instant. Many people use online sites and apps now, but often will meet with people local for dates. How far would you say your "perimeter" would be?

I've dated online several times with people across different states, but it's always been really really hard. I kinda wanna date an Arizona guy...but part of me still has that romantic idea of like sending a bottle across the ocean XD
I’ve tried a long distance relationship once and it didn’t work out. He moved to another city. It was hard because things got draining for the both of us. He was the only guy I loved.

I’d rather now be with someone who at least lives in my town. But even finding a match in my town who is a Christ believer and follower is rare.

Oh that's sad :( Who else on CC is from NZ?
Realistically long distance relationships don't work, someone will have to move eventually.
My church and churches in the same state seem to have a ratio of 80% women and 20% men :eek:

To be honest, I don’t know who else is from NZ on here except new people who sign up to CC, then they either don’t come back at all or chat in Chats lol.

If the person I’m meant to be with lives in another city or country, and if it’s God ordained, it will happen, which is why I’d rather leave this to God :)

I think it’s common in most churches that women ratio outdo men - my church is like that, however in saying that, I’d never date any of the guys from my church because I grew up with most of them, and I see them as my bro’s 😁

I always thought of this song when it came to dating.

what do you get when you kiss a guy?
You get another germ to catch pneumonia
After you do, he'll never phone ya
I'll never fall in love again

(sung in a really whiny, melodramatic voice)
