There are no single christian men my age where I attend church. They are all married and with kids. It is hard to find a decent christian man.

I think what the shortage of.... is courage. Great single Christian men are out there, but they remain single. I know some may be called to singleness, but there are many who are afraid of the risk of rejection or risk of getting hurt.

Thanks for bringing that "risk of rejection" thing up, abitofinsomnia. Ladies, I'm probably not the only one who has heard the way some of the women we know talk about shooting guys down, and taking some sort of sadistic pleasure in it. That's just wrong. No wonder they won't ask. There's no reason to be unkind unless a guy is harassing you in some way, right?

Even then, don't reject him, just beat him with your nightstick...

I can see it now, a guy approaches Jullianna at the grocery story to ask her out, and she responds with, "oh, ok...hold on and let me check my calender to see how my week looks." as she digs for her calender out of her purse, she takes our her taser and lays it aside, takes out her colapsable night stick and lays it aside, and the new box of ammo she just happens to have with her (since she is on her way to the gun shooting range)....by this point, the guy is probably high-tailing it out of there. ;) lol

You see, men like to hide and they have many hiding places. So, you have to go and seek them out in these hiding places or wait for them to come out of hibernation. Men are like bears in this respect the only difference is that men can eat year round especially when they are in hibernation with their friends. lol

Men are by nature insecure when it comes to women and sometimes do not respond to the good when they see it. They are threatened of having their private and personal domain invaded by someone who is going to make demands on their life that will only lead to a later commitment of which they may dread or not be ready for. If they acted like that in other areas of life they would never go anywhere in life and emotionally they would never grow up.

Men as a whole are probably a little misguided about women and assume the worse instead of the best. Women have many benefits to offer in a relationship that can be overlooked by the man. It happens all the time. As a woman if you are not noticed by men, who you may be attracted to, it's okay to initiate to them, you just might draw them out of hibernation for good.

I guess it's easier for younger people 18-24ish) to find someone b/c of on-campus ministries at school or just going to classes.

Don't concentrate on getting married, we are so close to the end. The time of trouble is here!! our freedoms are being taken away so fast, look, a home owner cannot afford water or electicity, and if you lose your job - what will most of us do. there are no jobs, not even part time. satan is trying to bring this world into a one-world government; he being the puppeteer. There is just no time to set up housekeeping, when we are running for our lives. Your job may seen secure now,. but people have told me when they got laided off, they didn't see it coming ! they had no clue. The bible tells us if your single stay single and if your married stay married. Just hand tight. Pray without ceasing. there is so many more important things to be focused on....spread the gospel. Do you have a hobby? photography, painting, car repair, cooking?

I don't know if I buy into the whole "the end is near." Thing. People have been saying that for hundreds of years. World War 2 and the creation of the U.N. was supposed to be the end times, but obviously that didn't happen. I think we should just live our lives without fear. Why fear an all-loving God? Let the end of time come when it does.

While I was reading this I was picturing it having been written by Elrond/Agent Smith.

I don't think I could disagree with you more. Men are aggressive by nature, confident and strong. It is because they choose to be weak or they have been surrounded and raised by women, that they lack the drive to pursue the things which compel them.

The burden of Maturity I believe has fallen on women more than men.

Red33 and Liamson, the both of you are so mature. Praise the Lord ! I never understood guys. The things that you have written are new to me. I have just recently realized that men are more insure then women. Men are more strong physically - but not emotionally. or maybe just when it comes to women. You can see my age. about 2 years ago a guy liked me and I like him very much, but he never approached me at all. I don't even know how to approach a man, if I like him, i feel like a hussy if I flirt. although I have in the past, and it got me no where- flirting doesn't work. I liked this guy so much that i was trying to be myself, and it didn't happen. I don't understand that whole scene. I recently was talking to a Jehovaha Witness and she brought light to me i had never thought of- some ppl have the gift of singleness, and some have the gift of marriage. I guess my gift is singleness. And I accept it.

Men say they want to find a good Christian girl who "isn't materialistic "and doesn't spend all of her time shopping.

Of course, not all women are this way!!! I've never been a big shopper though I do like to look.

However, I know one of the things I'm looking for is a guy (I actually pray about this a lot) who doesn't download/look at porn in his spare time, and, Christian or not, so far, it's been nearly impossible to find.

So... all you guys out there who are totally NOT into porn at all, or have been completely delivered from it... We ladies definitely want to hear from you!!

Well, that's generally not something that comes up in early conversation. Perhaps I should get a t-shirt that says "I used to look at porn when I was young and stupid but all I have to show for it is this lousy t-shirt!"

We are out here...we're just not advertising our former sins.

Excellent point, Nuke. I'm sorry for being somewhat too blunt and a bit insensitive. And, the guys aren't the only ones who have struggled, I know. After all, part of why we look for what we look for is to keep our own selves moving along the right path--not to rescue us, but, as you said, it's a former sin, and we want to do all it takes to hopefully make sure it stays that way.
