Thank you for these beautiful cards with the words to match. Today was not the best of days for me as there are a few things on my mind causing anxiety but after reading the cards I cast my cares upon the Lord.

Confession? Uuhhh, I confess, I have nothing to confess. Unless finally filing
for divorce after almost thirty-one years of separation counts :oops::whistle::giggle::geek:
Better late than never and this may help bring closure to this chapter of your life. Truthfully, the marriage, for all practical and spiritual purposes probably ended 31 years ago. I think that my older brother was separated for at least 10 years before his X finally filed for divorce.

My divorce in my first marriage was filed in March 1984 and finalized July 1984. My X was the one that blindsided me by filing. I was somewhat devastated, distraught, and disillusioned. A year later I realized what a blessing it was to be out of that horrible marriage. Got married Jan 14, 1978 and divorced Jul 12, 1984. I remained single and celibate (after a brief period of dating) for the next 18 years until I remarried my late second wife in 2002 who died in Feb 2014.

My second wife was a wonderful caring person but she was in declining health when we married. I knew that going in and was still willing to support her and take care of her. Those were the hardest 11 years of my life but I have no regrets as God sent me to her so that she could have someone in her life that actually loved her and was totally committed as a husband.

I have a confession... I am fighting to hold on to hope that I will one day be proud of myself, feel that I am worth it, and trust others with my heart.

I am sure that you are worth it but as far as trusting others with your heart you might want to use a little caution. Personally, I would only trust the woman who is my heart's desire with my heart who is now my wife.

I was not serious but that was over 4 1/2 years ago when I wrote the OP. I am still an addict but now I am serious about quitting. I will consider that fasting idea you had. I can say to myself, "I am still an addict but I chose not to smoke, today" and leave it at that. Take each day one day at a time. It's not like I am quitting as I still have the option whether to have a smoke fast the next day but during the fast day no smoking. Yeah, I am going to ponder that. Thank you for your contribution.
Your welcome and I am glad that you are consitdering it. God bless!

Based on your other post where you invited people to come to you for help, I know that you already have much to be proud of. I am proud of you for reaching out like that and offering to counsel and comfort strangers. That takes a lot of courage and love.

You sound like a lovely person. Lord bless your heart.

Welcome. This isn't the chat rooms, this is the forum (message boards). You have to download the app for the chatrooms. There are instructions on the home page.
