No flaming detected, some flamming though (bah-dum dum). I'd love to know how you do percussion in a minor key... and with only vocals to work with! If it's very minor percussion, does it diminish you somehow?
If I could weigh in with my opinion - I think the minor percussion would not diminish her. On the contrary, it would sharply augment her personality. If she cannot sustain it for a considerable period of time, then it would fall flat.

:p

My nick is a crossbreed between my real name and my pen-name. Roh stands for "Rohith", which means 'red' in Hindi and Chris stands for "Christiano", my pen-name.

And before anybody asks me, no, Christiano is NOT after Christiano Ronaldo.

The question about usernames is always fun and interesting, but I'm going to apologize in advance to the people here who've already read my posts about my nick... Several times. :p

I am adopted, and Seoul is the city I where I was found, and presumably (no one knows for sure) where I was born.

"Seoulsearch" is the embodiment of my search for a place to call home, as well as a calling for identity--discoveringwho I am, and helping others find out who they are and in the context of God's plan for us all.

It is especially amusing explaining this story to people who like to tell me, "You know, you spelled 'soul' wrong...'"

Nope. It just depends on which Seoul (soul) you're talking about. :)

Ironically, I think there actually IS another user here named Soulsearch--and I think there's been at least instances when we were both in chat at the same time.

Okay, in all reality....this is why I chose it and please, be ready for me to become really sappy.....

Jesus is great. He's my first love and will remain my last.

For the past few years, it has become my passion for His light to shine. It's not me, it's not my deeds, but it's Him moving through me. That even when I don't do anything, people see a difference. I don't want to brag about my works and the actions I do, but allow Him to move through me.

"Shine your light," allowing me to share the light that already has been instilled in me with my relationship with Jesus. I know there was a time when I was walking around my campus at the Bible college when I was a student, and one of my friends came to me and said, "You seem so joyful today. Not that you don't typically, but something is different today. What is it?" I shrugged and just told him I'm heading to class. As I walked away, I heard God as clear as day say, "It's my presence in your life that people see. You don't do anything. Like you said, you're just walking to class but people notice Me in you. You're letting the light shine even when you're not aware."

You press into God, and supernaturally and naturally, that light's going to come forth. People can tell when you're coming back from an encounter with God and you don't even have to say anything. It was that day when my friend approached me when I just got back from being with Jesus. He noticed something different, but it was all God.

seoulsearch: They haven't heard of Seoul? Even I've heard of it - never been there, but I've heard of it - and I'm a backwoods Tennessee hillbilly. :p

shineyourlight:
Salt and light, the Master said
Light the house and raise the dead
Greater works than these of mine you'll do
On a dark night far away
Guiding wanderers that have strayed
Oh the light upon the hill's in view

So turn your light on
Turn your light on
It's important that you shine, shine, shine
Turn your light on
Just turn your light on
Turn your light on now and shine, shine, shiiiiiiiine

Um... sorry, music nerd reflex. Ignore me.

I picked the name Jack because I like it. I don't feel comfortable sharing my real name on the internet, and Jack is a nice, all-American name.

Well, a few years ago I researched my family tree. I found out that I'm related to a lot of European royalty going back to the 5th century. Had it not been for you colonials, my family wouldn't have lost its titles and most of its land.

Thanks a lot!

So as a joke, I'm Duchess Aimee.

Just checking... that IS an American flag above your avatar, right? :)

Yes, I'm American. The story is that my family came over here for land with their titles. We had plantations and stuff... then the revolution happened. We didn't get to keep the titles. Apparently some of my family agreed with the revolutionaries. As if! :D

I'm wondering, why are some folks picking nicks that are (to some point) normal names, and some be picking nicks that aint names, but expressions, sayings etc...so I'm asking...is your nick telling on you somehow?

I'm posting this in Singles, even though I'm not single, because it looks like most folks are frequenting this forum more often than other forums:p...i hope it is okay...
I can't remember why I picked this nick for this forum. Partly to say something to someone who used to post here (is now banned, apparently) - by pm. That was years ago. Partly to re-establish myself somewhere else where I am known, because the former community won't let me use it.
And that is fine. Some really cool people there I miss, but it's not worth even participating under a sock account anymore - not when I have a fundamental difference of opinion on an important issue and especially not when some sicko threatened my life (web-archived and video recorded btw - I have more than mere accusations and heresay - I have proof).

Anywho. Stravinsk - one could assume it's short for the composer and that I like Stravinsky. That would be half right. I'm not fond of Igor Stravinsky's music, really. I adopted the name many years ago when I was a new composer and didn't understand certain aspects of the music I'd write and why they didn't "fit" for some reason. Stravinsk has the missing "y", or "why?" - now I've answered that question largely through practice and study, but kept the handle.

That being said, I'm not the only Stravinsk on the net. I've seen others use that name on web boards, youtube, twitter, even dating sites. So probably best not to assume if one comes across it :p

Hmm... well Matthew 7:13-14 was an influential scripture for me when I first came to God and began to study His word. I came to CC shortly after, and this name just came out as I typed in a username :p It's the narrow road of our walk as a disciple of Christ :)

[h=1]Matthew 7:13-14New King James Version (NKJV)[/h][h=3]The Narrow Way[/h]13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.14 Because[a] narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Mine is a two part story :p I used to hang around forums alot when I was younger, especially a fan site forum for the video game series Legend of Zelda. I was on there alot, but I could never come up with a cool and original username, so I decided to steal one from a game I played :p I thought of names that sounded cool, and picked on from a video game that very few people have played or even heard of, its so unheard of that you cant even find a picture of the character online :p I had to take a picture of her in a youtube video to show my friends :p
And thats where the name Yeraza came from.

Then the _Bats part, before coming to Christ I lived a sinful life of homosexuality and being transgender, and on that same website I met a guy and began talking to him all the time. We got together and all that junk, but his username was taken from a character in a Zelda game named Batreux, and a girl in the game called him Uncle_Bats. He liked that character so he used it as his username. We got close, and our friends there knew we were together and all that junk, so we decided Id take that name too. So my username became Yeraza_Bats.

Of course, I dont live that life anymore, but I am still friends with the people I knew there, and am even still a close friend with the guy I was with at the time. And Ive had the name for a long time now, and everyone knows me by it, and I like the name anyways :p And he and I decided I should keep the name anyways. Its the name I use everywhere I go online, even here, both cuz I was too lazy to make up a new name :p and also because I like it anyways. So it is now my online name :p

I actually clicked on this thread because I saw your name as the last poster, Yeraza, and I've always kinda wondered where your unique name came from. Thank you for sharing some of your life with us. I'm betting that you have an amazing testimony to share with others.

(Also, I love Zelda.)
