When you leave your heart vulnerable to another person you are leaving yourself at risk, at times great, of getting a broken heart. Leaving yourself open shows that you care enough about the other person to trust with your heart. Sometimes this implied trust is unwarranted. My best piece of advice is to take a break from the game and after a period of time cast your line once again upon the waters. You may want to switch the type of bait you usually use. The best medicine for a broken heart is the passage of time.

Thanks. I was really hoping for some m&ms or something though. Thought that might do the trick. ;p

There is a bowl of them on the bottom where my signature is. Please feel free to help yourself but save me a few of the red ones. I applaud your astute observation and feel that your prognosis is promising.

I believe that I am showing symptoms of seasonal affectionate disorder. This is definitely contagious and requires an aggressive treatment regimen.

Running to the Pain Management Clinic after getting rejected by my sister Linda.....Resentment Why do people hang onto it especially when the person they resent they don't even know? I mean at least I understand why my cousin Deanna resented me for a while because I said something stupid and hurt her feelings I prayed about that and we eventually worked that problem out.....but Linda I have never had the chance to make a duffus mistake. She hated my mom and not a fan of my brother Bill either.....Why?......... I will get over it, but will Linda? How horrible to have a lifetime of hate and resentment and never get rid of it...... I feel sad and sorry for her.... all I can do is pray? What more can I do? Anything? I dunno...... wish I could wave a magic wand and make it all better.... Dad when he was dying is saying to a 12 year old (me) and a 24 year old Linda - I wish you girls could get along.... I don't think he was talking to me as I didn't have an opinion then...I didn't know her then either....maybe I never will..... so very sad...

Your dad was talking to your sister as she was the adult and the one with the issues, whatever they may have been. I really don't know what more that you can do as the ball has always been in her court. Yes, all you can really do is to pray for God to soften Linda's heart towards you. She sounds she has lived her life in bitterness and resentment. You may have to wait until that big family reunion in the sky for her to say that she is sorry for pushing you out of the way in her thoughts and to tell you that she loves you. Your mom and dad will be there too and it will be one big happy family.

I am approaching the end of my nicotine reduction regimen and I am experiencing pains of withdrawal. It is ironic in that in order for me to live I must die to this habit. Quitting smoking was not of my own design but was orchestrated by the hand of God. He has given me a helper in this effort that has given me a reason to live and hope for the future. It's good to be alive.

You have been doing a good job too and I know I have been praying for you and I am sure you have done some praying yourself. You will be a victor in this as God is on your side and helping you with getting rid of this habit. Yes, I want you around for many years to come as you are my future too with God in the lead.

I love this Psalm and I love the Jocelyn Brown rendition of it!

Had a rough day yesterday with the smoking. It is sad but it may come down to the will to survive. The problem is that I really want to thrive. There has to be a balance there. I am learning a lot about my tolerance for pain in this sloppy process of quitting smoking. My best friend is praying for me and always by my side and she is much appreciated and desired. I do not want the pain to become tolerable as that is a reminder of my failures of the past. I want the pain to be gone. I need my best friend. I need prayer. I need deliverance.

The battle continues to eliminate the intake of noxious poisons into my body. I have reduced my intake of cigarettes from 40-50 a day to 3-4 a day. I thank God for the wonderful woman who has been most understanding and compassionate towards me and continues to encourage and pray for my complete recovery. Even now I still crave nicotine but I have noticed that the intensity of my cravings are gradually being reduced. I believe that there is hope for me yet and that I am not a lost cause.

One day I will be a recovering addict instead of an active addiction in my drug of choice. I will say to myself that I will chose not to smoke 'Today'. That will be the day and I pray that it comes sooner rather than later because if it comes later it may be one day too late.

Stole this from Lady Blue's Faith Book. We were just talking about problems and how you solve one and another pops up well a little bit of positive thought this brings is not a bad thing.....I liked it and thought it would be a great addition to the Pain Management Clinic.....Pray the problem away.....God is waiting to solve all our problems if we just ask Him to...

Dramamine works wonders, and not just for motion sickness. Take one and sleep the whole flight.
