oh I must have confused the alerts with the PMs

I looked in and every month theres a fundraiser appeal from Robocop a guy called Tracy he says hes the founder of the site and theres a donate button but...actually I am not 100 percent sure about that. I dont donate money as a rule to ppl I dont know online. Besides nz money isnt worth much and I think this site is american.

um sorry, if you expecting lots of cash from me every month you may be disappointed. I dont know how much it costs to run this site, so, not sure why asking for money. Other sites have not asked me. I just thought maybe its spam, but if everyone else gets this too and giving money then ?!

Your avoidance of it does not preclude your criticisms of it and those who habituate there :geek:
Habituate: To develop a bad habit that will eventually destroy you. :p

Lack of personal experience precludes neither knowledge of the experience or the benefit of warning people away from the experience. I don't have to smash my own thumb with a hammer to know it would hurt and be able to tell you that you shouldn't smash your own thumb.

However in this case I do have personal experience with BDF. That's why I know it hurts about as much as smashing your thumb with a hammer, something I have also done.

Yes RoboOp is the owner. It's safe to give donations to fund this site. I've never yet heard of anybody's card number getting stolen because he donated here.

Every free chatroom I have ever seen has solicited donations. Would you rather he pay for this site by hosting Google advertisements?

This doesn't mean you HAVE to pay. But neither should you disparage him, even obliquely, for soliciting donations.

Yes, yes, I know. Mine was funnier though.

Just wondering how exacty are people are finding threads more than 10 years old here
When you go to the Single's Forum, underneath are page numbers that go way back. I was doing this recently and I'd say the popular ones I look for have say 50 replies or more.
@seoulsearch re 'I appreciate your thoughtfulness in asking permission, Tabin, but rest assured. :) You and anyone else can feel free to copy, reuse, or recycle anything I've written here anytime'.
Thx for the green light for some of us who get burnt out at times. I wonder if you'll recognize your own Threads revived from the archives, lol.

I wonder which thread has been the most popular ever. I mean since 2009?!

Who is going to hunt that one down?

Nothing posted there since March? Has... has it finally died?

I thought this would never happen. Is this the end? Does Ragnarok start now?

if a thread was interesting and still is , it should be commented on again.
I wasnt here when they posted so seeking the old threads is a good past time

Other sites lock old threads ,. this site doesnt

If they ban then thast is their choice. i paid my subscriptions so i shoudl have the RIGHT to post on threads i am interested in
I fully concur with your estimation.

what about the most popular in singles forum?
Surely Last person to post wins.
But I did find out theres another one in the young adults forum that Oblio was also posting in, even though he told us he was like 73. I suppose that is ...young for some ppl?

so not sure how that happened.

I dont know if I have the time to scroll through 591 pages of posts just trying to find one I like from 2009
its a bit silly to work backwards cos most of the posters back then would not still be here to answer

A sign that I'm addicted is the fact that I spent all day long here.

The powerhouse known as DCon who OP'd that thread was was banned quite some time ago...

I'm tempted to bump that thread with an expression of dismay that an era has ended and I never noticed.

But... No. It would be unmitigated snark with no benefit. I will let it pass. I can do snark for a purpose and enjoy it, but I try to not do snark just to be mean.

It's tempting though.

Signs you may be addicted (is anybody counting these?)

The thread has derailed for whole pages and nobody has noticed yet. :p
Meh. It's more than 10 years old. Do you really think the OP is going to care? He/she would just be happy to learn his/her thread is more than a decade old, and still going strong after all this time.

Eh... Technically it's going strong again.

But the OP is seolsearch, so she is aware of it.
