If I meet a girl that's really weird,
I'll give her a buddy's phone number...
ya know, just to be funny.

If he was a complete stranger that I had just met in some random location, definitely not. If he was a complete stranger but we had met at some church function, I'd feel slightly more comfortable, but chances are still unlikely that I'd want to give him my number right away.

*shrugs* I just really like the whole friends-first thing. Not that I think that's the only way to go, but that's what makes me feel safest and most comfortable.

It happened to me and I usually have an excuse because I don't memorize my cellphone numbr. Lol. If he is really persistent, ill give him my parent's cellphone number. Hehe. Jk.

Oh, and as far as how I react, if I'm not interested in giving him my number I usually look and feel uncomfortable, but I don't make up excuses. I do manage to awkwardly say that I'd rather not share my number. Most of them seem to at least appreciate the honesty, despite the rejection.

I wish it were always that easy, but some men hear "no" and think "challenge accepted!"
I can't help but be reminded of Barney Stinson XD *please excuse some of the "bad material" in this vid!!!*

I've always wanted to ask a bank teller: "I trust you with my bank account number, can I at least get your phone number?"probly wants to kill me...
Awesome pickup line, brother ;)

As for me, if i were a guy, i'd be saying it like this: "I trust you with my patient file number at the asylum, so can i at least get your complete address, so i could visit you sometime? You're not afraid of me, right?? I am pretty sweet, just little unsound without my meds...wait. I think i forgot where i put those pills..."

I once asked a woman on the street for her phone number and she actually gave it to me.

She said her phone number was 1-800-You're-Not-In-My-League

I phoned the number later that night, but there was no ring tone. Maybe I have to join her baseball league first!!!

I often approach strange women on the street and offer them my phone number, but they always refuse to take it. I guess they don't have anything to write my number on.

Would it hurt you ladies to carry around a pen and notepad in your purses??? You have everything else in there!!!
Maybe if they knew you finally started sharing your ice cream, they'd let you write your number on their back (which they'll have trouble trying to scrub off later XD).

Yup. Different thread, same battle, Descyple!!!

Just make sure that buddy of yours isn't a vampire, Maxwell.

Or, at least, a vampire that has taken a shower, bought a fresh set of clothes, and is wearing sunscreen (i'm not fond of vampires who sport tanlines XD).

Well, i've never asked a guy for his phone number XD but i have been asked mine on occasion.

One time was when i went to a bar with my medschool gal friends (i usually don't go out, but i was dying with boredom at our dormitory then XD).

So i went out with them for some dancing and drinks (i was spiritually dwindling at the time, not proud of it.)

As i was just dancing and having fun, a guy starts dancing really close to me, then hands me a piece of tissue, asking me for my number.

Apparently he's been sent by someone who's interested in me, and kept on bragging that said guy was someone who works with the media and at a TV station.

Of course, i was flattered as heck, but i didn't give him my real number XD one of my gal friends said she'll right down her boyfriend's number there instead (with said boyfriend being there with us, giving his thumbs up XD).

The other guy who my friends brought along asked for my number too. Since we danced a little, and since he was a friend of my friend, i gave my number, just as not to be rude or offending. He texted me at once that night and the following day. I think he got a little smitten, and was hoping i'd be sweet right back at him, but i kept a friendly, non-commital stance, which he expressed his dislike for. And i never heard from him again XD

I'm not the type who likes to lead anyone on. "No" means "No", no matter how many times i'm asked.

But if i'm considering saying yes, i just... give that "maybe" look.

I kind of want to start carrying a "Please take a number" extractor...thing...so that if someone ever asked me "Can I have your number?" I could give them a literal number.

You already know my number, silly!!! XD

We stay in the same mental institution, remember? ;) what, you haven't crashed into my files yet?? XD

...oh, wait. I did get transferred for spicing up my "love yourself" jacket, and making a business out of it XD good thing my current institution has nothing against crazies with style and business savvy

I think my meds aren't helping treat my delusional states just yet

That's exactly what I thought of! I started singing it to myself and now it's stuck in my head.

Reading all the women's responses, I suppose we creepy men have to be more creative than just ask for your number. We could just pretend to not have a phone and urgently use yours to make an emergency phone call to a disabled child's school (really just calling my cell phone to get the number...) .

Good thread!
