the cc that i joined in january is completely unrecognizable to me. i've taken breaks of late, and i am sadly missing the place, the people, the values and the attitude that it once was.

deeply saddened. this used to be a place where faith was encouraged, and i was challenged in my faith by those who shared.

i miss that so much.

I'm glad you explained that, Lil, because around here we call it the DMV too.

I was beginning to wonder if it was something like BMV = Bowel Movements (on) Vacation...
i think there is a couple other states that use BMV, and IIRC one or two states use something like MVD and OMV

You should have seen it back when I joined in 2009. Everyone would riff off each other's posts--it was so much fun!! Every thread was like a "Choose-Your-Own-Adventure" in joke form... Chat had several talented people who would start meaningful discussions about interesting subjects and encourage everyone to have on the mic... and we all used to gather in a room to play Bible Trivia games. Even the mods would play.

Those were the days! One of my co-workers used to to tease me, "So what are you doing tonight, Kim? After all, it's a Friday... Oh, that's right, you're going to your big Online Church Potluck!!!"

Yeah, it was something like that. And I miss it, too.

Yes, 2009 was a great year here! That was the year I spent almost every night in chat because it was actually fun. I don't think it will ever be the same again. :(

Last night after work I started having flu-like symptoms: Headache, soreness, fatigue. Plus, I had on a hoodie and 3 blankets and still couldn't get warm; feverish. The house was the same temperature it was always at and I'm normally hot-blooded.

I got 9 hours of sleep. Sweated off and broke my fever. Got up this morning to go to work and was super weak. Texted my supervisor that I would be coming in late. Slept another few hours. Made myself get up and get ready for work. I was quite pale (well, more so than normal :)). But there were things I needed to get done, and I still feel behind, especially since I was out Monday as well. My supervisor understands me being out, said I could be out all day if I needed to. But I haaaate missing work, even for a good reason.

My stomach has been bothering me all day. I got to work and was going to get a Powerade from the cafe to help replenish my body, but the cafe was closed due to the company serving Thanksgiving lunch. So instead, I got a Mt. Dew from the soda machine (no Powerades in the machine). I thought it was supposed to be good for the tummy, but that's actually Sprite or Ginger Ale...Mt. Dew definitely did nothing for me. So, today I have had a small bowl of cereal, half a Mt. Dew, and maybe 6 Wheat Thin crackers. I'm forcing myself to eat tomato soup for supper. It's like I'm hungry, but I don't want to eat and I don't feel like eating.

I *know* I'm sick when I don't feel like eating. ;)

The things I probably should eat to help my tummy I do not have. My roommate and I are low on groceries and don't want to buy more since we won't be in this house much longer, and I do not feel well enough or strong enough to go to a grocery store.

I'm glad it is this week, though, and not next week. Next week I travel for Thanksgiving and also do the big move-in to my new house.

Anyway. I feel like all I do is complain here. Sorry, guys.
On a more positive note, the friend who got fired yesterday already has a job lined up for tomorrow. Someone she got close to where I work managed to get an in for her at another place.

Also positive, here is the wreath I bought on my new houses's door. :)

So when I took the vision test to renew my permit today, I realized that my vision isn't as good as it was last year. I've gone a bit near sighted. Not bad, but noticeable, especially in my left eye. I don't think I need prescription lenses, just the cheap ones.

Today I'm wearing jeans that used to be too small for me (well they used to fit too, but that was before they were too small for me). Gotta celebrate the little victories.

Also I started out using the word pants, and then realized some of our British speaking friends might think that was TMI.

I totally saw a doppelganger of Ryan Gosling at the hospital, when I took a friend there for an appointment on Tuesday. He was a nurse or doctor or something. Someone official. At first I was taken aback, it was a bit surreal. I'm sure he was a real hit with the ladies.

Seoul, 2009 sounds like it was a good year to be on CC. I pine for the days of 2013. Now that was a good year.

I visited friends in Kansas City last weekend. One couple has twin baby girls, they are such dolls, but they had been sick before I got there. I knew that before going, but when I texted my friend that I was sick, she listed off some symptoms and I said, "Yup...that's it." I think I have what her babies were sick with. Except when I asked her how many days they had it, she said they still did. They seemed fine when I was there. I'm hoping/praying that since I am older and my immune system is more established (though weak right now due to stress, I'm sure) it will not be a week-long thing. :/

It was still worth the trip though. Always good to see friends, and of course being "aunt" Rachel and getting to play with and snuggle babies but without the drawbacks of changing diapers and getting up early. :)

It's a blessing.

As you get more and more nearsighted,
the men you meet will seem more and more attractive.

Of course you're still too young for men,
but by the time you're old enough,
your vision will be just right.

When Mocha was in the animal hospital, I kid you not, Chris Hemsworth's doppleganger was one of Mocha's doctors.

I seriously laughed out loud at this.

Wow! Be still your beating heart!
Oh, I know it!! When I would visit Mocha, I would hope that he was there. XD But alas, it was not meant to be, and I have not seen him since July. Yup, that's the sound of my heart breaking you hear all the way in Australia.

I'm sorry to hear that, Evie. May you find him... when you're 30.

I am an extremely irresponsible teenager. I'm just about through with all of this, but calling it quits even before I start won't get me anywhere...but is it really quitting if I know I'm going to fail anyways?
