Have any of you ever had a dream while "awake"?
I had one last night.
Are we talking about an aspiration? Or a hallucination? :p

I had one of those "dream within a dream" dreams once. Kind of eerie, but I don't think mine was as creepy as yours from what you described!

I think it was very close to a hallucination (great, I knew I was crazy, but not that crazy), but unless someone put some odd herbs in my dinner I can't see why :p

hmm, a dream in a dream? that sounds confusing

So yesterday I'd said something about how they're having this "mass gay wedding" a couple of blocks from my office tower, since gay marriage is apparently legal here now. A co-worker of mine is gay, and, like me, is in suits and bow ties every day, so this girl we work with was talking to us about both of us coming to work in identical suits and bow ties, she'd bring in boutonnieres for our lapels, and at lunch we'd leave together and she'd tell the department we were getting married in the mass gay wedding! Well, we didn't do that, however, we did both show up wearing navy blue three-piece suits, heavily-starched white shirts, and navy blue bow ties. We did go out to lunch (minus the boutonnieres). We stopped by the park where the mass gay wedding was taking place and watched for a few minutes, which must've looked funny since we're both all matching all suited, buttoned-up, and bow tied, then we went and grabbed a bite. So we get back to work. I'm in my little office and this girl comes in and tells me that now the whole department is in on it and they've got a wedding planned! Apparently they're arranging chairs and a podium in the conference room, turning it into an impromptu wedding chapel. Someone's even pulled up organ music on their laptop. The wedding's at 4:00, just over half-an-hour away. I'm sitting here in my office all suited, buttoned-up, and bow tied waiting nervously to walk down the aisle and be wed to my groom, which I assume is what my groom is doing in his office. While I've been typing this that girl came in and pinned the boutonniere on my lapel. I guess this has turned out to be my wedding day after all! (nervous gulp!)

I know it's a joke, but this all seems very weird to me. I guess it's nice to work in an office where people can have a good time with each other, but I'm not sure how to feel about putting on a big fake same-sex wedding at work. What type of work do you do again? And are you sure everyone knows this isn't real? lol.

seems like the joke is going a bit far. it's ok to have a sense of humor about it, but...

...maybe we should all look at the "making fun of sin" thread.

Your secret is safe with us. :p

Gosh, what a nice day. The weather is a bit too warm for my taste, especially considering this is the middle of Winter, yet it's not exactly hot; very nice weather, overall. I keep getting up from my work desk, peeking outside, wishing I was doing something outdoors. Alas, Siberian_Khatru is an indoor kitty. :(

I'm in banking, although this facility isn't, obviously, a branch office! My department is upstairs in an office tower. A bit too far? You think? Beside me and my "groom," our department consists of one other guy and a bunch of women. I'm probably too good a sport. So here I am, moments from being wed! I may have a sense of humor, but it's feeling very real right now! Almost time! Actually, here she is, come to get me! It is time!(GULP!)

IKR! Its going up to 78 here today! :) I love it!

On the down side... my car got broken into last night  but they didn't take anything since there was nothing of value to take. My alarm was on too, but I didn't hear it go off. :( Reported it to the police. Now I'm just waiting for the window to get repaired. $200 out the window, literally.

Oh man! I prefer 50s - 60s and clouds. I'm so not a Californian, haha.

Noooo! Not the car. :( At least nothing was stolen, and it gave you an excuse to use a good pun...? (Just trying to look on the bright side.) Sorry bud.

Thanks guys! :) I'm just glad it wasn't worse. At first I thought they got my samsung tablet but it was in my room.

And SK, you would probably like the weather in san francisco. :)

:/ I wish there was an instant Let them get what they deserve - button, to make sure people who did stuff like that had it happen to them the next day and teach them a lesson

I wish I had a security camera, then I could've give the video to the cops. I never would've thought they'd target my dingy old car though. A shiny lexus suv was parked right next to it and they broke into my honda instead.

You know you're getting old when you're talking to someone about going to "The Club".

You know... "How are we going to get into The Club? Do you have a card to get us in?" "What time are we going to The Club? We don't want to get there too late." "Are we going to go together or just meet at The Club?" And, of course, most importantly, "What are YOU going to get at THE CLUB?"

Never mind that "The Club" you happen to be talking about... is Sam's Club.
