My brain.... Such a jerk. Right now, it's trying to convince me the air in my room is so dry, I'm gonna wake up with a nosebleed. The worst part is this has happened to me before, waking up with a nosebleed (but I didn't realize it until the room I was sleeping in at the time looked like the aftermath of a crime scene). Guess I won't be sleeping for another hour.

So um yeah. English classes and exposure to other classes and other teaching assistants this week has shown me that overall, I've got it pretty good. Not that it will stop me from criticizing a world that doesn't line up with the perfect ideal in my head, but the realist in me knows I have to recognize that I am blessed beyond measure even if it doesn't look exactly like I thought being blessed should.

Now for the difficult questions of life: Should I make shrimp alfredo with shredded up veggies instead of noodles (yeah it's that whole low carb thing still) or bbq piggy with cheesy mashed cauliflower and broccoli stuff for my valentine's day dinner? The best part is that since I'm single, whatever I cook I get to make it just the way I want it and I get to eat it all.

I think God is opening my eyes to some things I should've noticed a long time ago. Things I've been relying on that aren't really what they seemed (like my dependence on CC to help me feel some sort of connection to others). Also things I need to really work on like my overall health, self-discipline and the most important thing of all.. to start growing again as a person. I've been like a dead flower buried under the snow for some time now. Spring is coming..

Wow I believe God just confirmed to me in a sign that the feelings I posted above really are coming from Him. I clicked on a christian news site that I bookmarked a long time ago but never really visited and one of the headlines basically said "Prayer for Gabriel" (thats my name).

i've had to settle a disagreement with four full grown men arguing over something pretty stupid. well, very stupid. and at 5ish in the a.m.

i don't wish i was dead, but i do wish someone would make me a big breakfast. : )

There's a crystal quality to your voice ......what do they call it? Like mezzo-soprano? It has clarity that sounds sooo good! I wish I could sing. I sat on my back porch and sang once and the next day my neighbor said he had the best night coon hunting of his life. There's this singer who has your type of voice but who has much better back up musicians than you had. Yours seemed distracted. Her name is Marika Hackman and she writes weird songs but has that same kind of clean quality to her voice. It's like an "absolute" - maybe Catherder or Shour can help me with what i'm trying to say. Anyway, very nice and here's Marika Hackman. Oh - another singer is Laura Marling that shares those same qualities. You know - John Denver (on the male side) had it too. A crystalline sound that I can't quite define.

Sad, I apparently I can't give you reps again yet, but this was so amazing! Nothing about it seemed dorky at all. Your singing voice is awesome and you picked the perfect song to sing :)

I discovered that as well upon growing facial hair! It's a pretty odd thing.
I have no idea how those two act like. And yes, hair is very important. There is no record of Jesus ever getting a haircut - - and look what happened when Samson did.

Also, since I grew facial hair for the first time, I've discovered that I have a touch of soulless ginger in me. That's weird.

agreed. i'm cutting about 16-18" off this weekend to donate. but unlike samson, i'll gain my super powers back.

or maybe that's wishful thinking. what i will gain back is what feels like a half hour of untangling way-too-long curly hair soaking wet, water everywhere, my arm tired and ready to fall off, all while muttering to myself, "never, ever, ever again..."

anyway, my uncolored hair is reddish light brown. if i could grow a beard, i bet i'd have red too! ; p

I would like to thank those of you who have sent me pm's, emails, and well-wishes to get better soon. I appreciate everyone's prayers who have offered them up on my behalf. :) Your encouragement and support mean alot to me, and have played a crucial role in keeping a positive mindset during this difficult time of being currently incapacitated..God bless you all.. :)
