Signs you need a new laptop:

It's 5+ years old.

The cooling fan sounds like a leaf blower, blowing in the distance.

You no longer have a full functioning up arrow key.

The built-in mouse clicker sticks.

It can't handle the content you have on it.

The audio jack is completely loose and therefore if you move the wrong way, the brand new earbuds you've got plugged in won't work properly (but they work great on the tablet I have).

It just really needed to be replaced like, last year, especially since I'm going to college in the fall, but you've always been taught to use something till it can't be revived any longer.
Every thinkpad I have ever had is still running. Every single one. I'm typing on one right now. All but one of them were bought off ebay, used.
This looks like a good one:
ThinkPad T400s 14 1" Core 2 Duo 2 40GHz 4GB RAM 128GB SSD Win7 DVDRW w Dock | eBay
There are others that might be better for the same price, but they don't come with the adapter and I'm guessing you want to use yours out-of-the-box. This one is ready to rock as-is.

So I held a Chihuahua puppy today at the mall. He was super tiny and I just wanted to hold him, I had no plans on buying him because I'm a pretty firm believer in adopting from a shelter. Anyhow so I held this probably 5 pound pup and the sales person comes over and is giving me info on him, I was falling in love this tiny little guy. I kept thinking, maybe I could adopt him, he seems to like me, he had this tiny tail and he kept wagging it and he licked me but you could hardly feel it because his tongue was so tiny. Then he told me the cost, 1,699.00 dollars. Then he mentioned that they took credit cards and had financing options, I said, oh well I can't afford that. It actually broke my heart a little to hand him back but 1,699.00 for a DOG! I mean OK there should be no price on love, but come on, that's a lot of money for a pet. If he would have said 300.00 I probably would have walked out of there with him and faced the wrath of my Husband later. But I don't know if I'd still be married if I spent that much on a dog. I hope some nice rich person adopt's that sweet little boy and give's him a good home.
I got a dog from the shelter. I paid $40 for him, and the only reason they charge that is to cover the neutering cost. He's an australian shepherd named Dan, he is about four times smarter than a chihuahua, he's much better at keeping deer out of the garden and he's about the best dog in the world. I strongly recommend visiting the local shelter before getting out the credit card for a "rich people's dog."

Stay. Please.

I promise I will behave. And I will make sure the Lynx and the Siberian_Khudzu don't trouble you.
Look at this! The bear promises to behave and then calls me Khudzu.

You know, I just so happened to have a dream last night where a few stray animals were kind of terrorizing this small, abandoned, run down city block in an otherwise nice neighborhood. Guess which animal was doing the most terrorizing? Oh yes. It was a black bear.

Coincidence? I think NOT!

Does anyone have some PTO you can transfer to me? Or can you at least connect me directly to someone at Microsoft support that is competent and able?
