In reading threads the past couple of days, it struck me how far so many have come and the healing that has occurred in so many lives in this forum. I think the friendships we have in this forum are a huge part of that. In talking with Gary last night and pondering all of this I realized how far I've come over the past couple of years as well.

Many of you know I lost my husband several years ago. What you may not know is that almost immediately thereafter my mom was diagnosed with cancer and I cared for her until she passed...and then one of my elder stepbrothers (who was like a father to me) also went to be with the Lord. It was one thing after another and I didn't really have (or maybe I simply did not TAKE) the healing time I needed to grieve.

I was pretty messed up and closed off when I first came here. I didn't want to talk with anyone (male or female) or date anyone, any time, anywhere. I listened in chat and spoke very little, but more and more I became comfortable and began to join in. Then I met all of you in this forum. :)

It's been on my heart all afternoon to take the time to say thank you. :) Thank you for the love, laughter and prayers. Mostly, thank you for your patience and presence in my life. You mean more to me than you know. :) God has done quite a work and I deeply appreciate your allowing Him to use you in so many ways. :)

I'm working more and more it seems and may be here less and less, but know that I think of all of you and remember you in my prayers. :)

Beautiful words Jullianna. I didn't know you back then, but you've lived through a LOT and I'm so glad that you've been healing and can look back and see how far you've come. It seems to me that when we go through terrible times, our shields are down and we have the opportunity to experience friendships - every kind comment or confidence - like a shot straight to the soul. That's a beautiful thing! I can already tell that you are a beautiful spirit and I'm thankful to be here getting to know you and this group of awesome brothers and sisters in Christ.

Julianna.

I say this to everybody. Granted I haven't been here that long so I never saw the bereaved Julianna. I've seen the post-CC-makeover Julianna who makes strange jokes (much like everyone else here). But, helping each other is probably the single greatest thing Christians can do for one another.

Done right, it makes EVERYONE involved feel better, and it actually sets those who have been healed free to help others get healed. And the people who are touched by the kindness of their brothers and sisters touch more people daily. It's like compound interest - Holy Spirit style.

So, it's what Christians do. So happy to be here on CC which is a place where that truly happens.

The birds have launched some kind of an attack upon my house. I have now seen three different types of birds fly SMACK into my living room window. Possibly this is very poorly though-out revenge against the cats?

Maybe the birds are just drunk :/

To point out my dumb mistakes, or keep them quiet...always the dilemma I have in this place. I'll just assume everyone saw it, noted it, and shook their head, and now I can go back to watching drunken birdies knock themselves out.

My thoughts at the moment..... Julianna is one inch taller and 23lbs more, and if people call her petite then people should stop calling me average. Yes, the baby I carry around all the time makes me look bigger, but what about the huge people that tower over me all the time too?
oh... And I want a German Shepherd too. I had one once, loved her so much!! Someday when I'm married again I'll have another one :)

Was coming up the stairs when my flip-flop caught the edge of the stairs. Tripped and my shin hit the edge of a step, and my hand smacked on another. My hand took the brunt of the fall. Stings pretty bad right now.

OUCH! Hope that was the extent of your injuries.

But the important question....can you still play that gee-tar?

I "liked' this only because it made me think of my dad and not because I like that it happened to you. Our house has a basement - not finished, just a root cellar really and it has wood steps going down and it's dark and dank, etc. Anyway I went down and was standing on the concrete floor when my dad came down and fell forward at the top step and then did the oddest thing. He slid down the steps just like a seal! He slid out into the floor a few feet when he landed and his arms were down by his sides and he looked just like a seal. I expected him to sound like 'ooorrrff ooorrrf and balance a ball off his nose.

I hate it but I laughed till I cried. I couldn't help myself and the fall truly about beat the poor man to death. He was over there grumbling 'not exactly sure what you're findin so funny bout all this' and I could not stop laughing. I just couldn't. I tried so hard but it just caught me off guard. oh well...
