Ok guys, I survived a week at Disney and my twisted ankle didn't slow me down. It's still a little swollen but I'm hoping time and rest will heal that. I've caught my son's cold. So nice of him to share. At least he shares the last day of Disney and not the first day. I'm feeling kind of sick. I sang at church this morning rocking the bluesy rasp, which works well for the style we sang today. Now though, my throat just hurts. I'm going to have to rest it, I suppose. That's SO hard to do. How am I not supposed to sing???
Speaking from personal experience... you don't not sing. You keep singing, usually without realizing it, until you notice your throat is getting more sore with every note, then you stop and remind yourself that you need to not be singing right now, then three minutes later you notice you are singing again.

Or that's how it works with me anyway.
Well the publishers have had their hand in tricking you there. The magicians nephew is chronologically first in the chronicles of narnia but it was published 6th in the series. So older sets have it as book 6 and newer editions have it as book 1. The good news is that it doesn't matter too much when in the series you read that particular book as it's so far removed from the rest that it doesn't matter. Anyway, narnia is still one of my favorite series so I hope you enjoy them.
Sounds like the numbering for the Final Fantasy series. The way it was numbered in Japan is different than the listed order in America.

Lynx, you are correct. That's exactly what I do. I don't even notice I'm singing. When I do realize I stop but then minutes later I'm singing again. It's SO difficult to not mindlessly do it. I sing everywhere. I was singing in Starbucks tonight. I didn't even notice it until the barista said something to me. My throat is in a bit of pain at this point. I think I'm getting sick. Sniffles, cough, sore throat.

Reece, that was Epic! LOL! :D

Kim - truth be told, there was more to it than just that thread which made me stop making threads. I also was in my opinion, attacked by someone who seemed to have a problem with my posts. It was someone I didn't know at all but was a regular here. They basically accused me of trying to one-up everyone and sound like I'm better than everyone else. Well that effectively shut me up pretty well. There were some other things too like drama and controversial threads which taught me that some people are just beyond trying to reason with. Anyway, its a different crowd now, but I'm also older and less excited about making threads... :(
I think you should return to making threads:)

You will probably have far more members that appreciate your contributions than disgruntled members. Plus, since you are a regular doesn't that give you some added immunity? Haha.

One shouldn't have to tell a 15 year old it's not ok to bang on the door and yell when you live in an apartment and it's 10:15pm. One shouldn't, but apparently one does.

Holy Cow...

My eyes snapped open because of a bright wave of light streaming against the windows, so I thought it must be around 6:30 (when dawn starts to break around here.)

I was shocked to see that it was only 4 AM, and that the incredibly bright light straining through the closed shades... was actually the moon.

I could be wrong about this, but I believe that the Bible says that in heaven, there is no need for the sun, moon, and stars in heaven because God's light will shine so bright? So every time I look at the sky, I try to be thankful for these beautiful lights we get to see on earth.

I'm going to stay up a while and watch the moon.

Come on over and enjoy the view.
If you'd like to check out an image my oldest son took of the nearly-full moon tonight, click the link below. He lives in Las Vegas.

This photo blows my mind!! :D

when a caller asks what times i have available, and he/she interrupts me as i'm telling them.

Mine has to be when somebody calls my mobile and asks to speak to say,"Samuel."

I tell them, "Sorry! Wrong number."

The person then asks, "You sure you not Samuel."

I have to then reply, "Yes I'm sure, I wasn't Samuel when I left home this morning."

Then they have the gall to ask, "Who are you then?"

To which I respond with two words vital to the conversation,"Not Samuel!"

I agree. One shouldn't at all. One may even sense a rising urge to choke said 15 year old:rolleyes: But one shouldn't.

Thankfully, I'm a non-discriminatory wanna-be choker.

There are people of ALL ages I want to choke on a frequent basis.

However, as you both have said... One shouldn't.

I suppose.

Every cloud in the sky, every place that I hide, tell me that I, I was wrong to let you go,

Every sound that I hear, every thought that I fear, tell me that I, I was wrong, I was wrong to let you go......

I was on a walk, when I noticed the moon coming up. By the time I got home, I couldn't take a picture of it, because it was too late.
Speaking of the moon anyone else think that the saying "shoot for the moon even if you miss you land among the stars" is scientifically false? Stars are further away from Earth than the moon.....including our own star the sun.....so the correct way would be to shoot for the stars even if you miss you can still land on the moon lol.....

I had a dream last night that I was taking a road trip in the southern states - pretty much from East Texas to the Florida panhandle.

Maybe I need to spend some vacation time there.

If you're a bored it seems that there is a novel developing in the Bible discussion forum titled, Donald Trump is not a Christian. That's going to go over well.

I missed the super moon :( Now I feel like a super moron. :p
Just get yourself a nice astronomical refractor telescope and view the next full moon. You'll get a better view with a telescope, anyway. You can get a decent one for about $150-200. :)

I've gotten a call several times from a company with a San Antonio, Texas area code. It's a different caller each time, but they always ask the same thing. "Is Edith there?" I keep telling them she is not. When I ask who is calling, they hang up. I tried calling the number back to see what company it is, but all I get is an erratic sounding busy signal. So I've decided that next time I'm going to respond, "Yes, this is Edith. What company is this?" Then whatever last name they have for Edith, I will say, "Oh, you've got the wrong person. I'm Edith Bunker." ;)

one time, someone called me, but since it was an unfamiliar number, i didn't answer. they didn't leave a voicemail. shortly after, i got a text message from the same number asking, "who is this?"

my first thought was, "jake, from state farm."

but... i didn't answer the text.

i lost my chance.

lol.
