I was thinking...we should have a CC Christmas party. I say it now in August b/c it would need to be planned. Which I don't mind, but what do you all think? We would need a place to do it though. Maybe a chatroom? We could carol through camera and it could be fun. Maybe even one for Thanksgiving and New Years?

That's a good idea. I'll try to make it if it happens, but I can't promise anything since that's so far off.

Time...there seriously is never enough anymore.

I built the main portion of an IKEA dresser last night. I went from saying "I'm frustrated" to exclaiming "IKEA is evil" in about 5 minutes time. I did figure it out but what the heck IKEA. WHY don't you LABEL the parts and add those LABELS TO YOUR PRETTY PICTURED INSTRUCTIONS??

I have to build the drawers tonight...

Actually, the reason for not labelling things is pretty simple: the labels in every language would be voluminous and unwieldy. IKEA does, after all, export to almost every country with a significant economy. Not that such cold hard facts will assuage your frustration at all... ;)

Just find someone who reads "Sveedish" and you'll be good.

SMARTY PANTS - people print instructions in multiple languages all the time. :p

Why do my male friends love torturing me so? ;)

Don't look at me. I hate assembling "some assembly required" furniture.

Yes, but he became INfamous for being caught in the act :D In an industry that panders to female emotions, image is everything. I don't think it really hurt his selling power, though :)
You're right... I got 'famous' and 'infamous' mixed up...:p

There's a good chance someone has a video of how to assemble those on youtube.

This is just an example:

My dog gives me self-confidence.

I know that sounds weird. Hear me out.

Sometimes I'm a fairly self-conscious person. Sometimes doing things by myself makes me more self-conscious that I'm doing them. Walking outside, for example. I like walking outside, but I feel more confident with my dog. Not just in safety (she's very protective, despite looking cute as a button), but just as a person.

I feel more confident hiking with her. People who pass me will look past me (looking red-faced, sweaty, and undone) and see how cute she is with her dog hiking backpack.

I stopped at a waterfall area a few hours from me on my drive home from traveling the other day, and took an impromptu swim in the water. There were many other people there swimming in their normal swim-suits. I was fully dressed, leggings and a T-shirt (granted, that's what I wear swimming anyway, but I digress). My dog swam with me. I wasn't "That weirdo swimming in her clothes by herself off to the side", I was "That sort of weird girl and awww, look, her doggy is swimming with her and following her, how sweet."

I dunno, I know people probably don't even think those things when they see me, or if they do it's only for a second and it really doesn't matter for me, but I just feel like she gives me confidence. I can't really explain it.

I feel the same weird way when I'm out in public... I have a feeling that self-consciousness might be a trait of invtroverts.. :)

Its great that your dog can help you with that :D

I just realized that I was looking at ESPN on my phone while I had it pulled up on the computer in front of me. I have issues.

I figured as much (and/or thought you had missed the in part :D) I was thinking about that Wham! song, the line where he sings, "You make the sun shine brighter than Doris Day." Free associating from that was the connection between Doris Day and Rock Hudson, who made some romantic comedy movies with Doris Day long before he came out as a gay man. He was the first American celebrity to publicly admit having AIDS, and became the first high profile Hollywood celebrity victim of AIDS. George Michael died last year on Christmas day at the age of 53, but they determined it was of natural causes.

Bruce, you just made my day.....I do that ALL the time. It makes me feel so much better I'm not the only one. Just today I dropped a card off at my guys place and got into my car and started it.....only i dumped my purse out trying to find my keys and couldn't so five minutes of digging I got my spare key and went to put it in the ignition and I already had a key in it lol. I hope that helps you feel better

I don't care that he was gay, he's one of my favorite singers! :p Two of my other favorite singers are gay too... (freddie mercury and barry manilow) I'm kind of suspicious about adam levine, but he is married to a supermodel...
