How do some girls look so cute working out? They've got their cute messy bun, lightly sweating, rosy cheeks.

Then there's me, and I look like someone threw a balloon filled with red paint at my face, dunked me in water, and then instructed a rat to build their nest in my hair.

One of the many reasons I exercise alone.
Isn't the point of exercise to get healthier? Not compare yourself to others and use that as an excuse to trash yourself? Sounds like your focus is in the wrong place.; P

I'm actually going to post this in prayer requests too. For the ones who have responded, your responses have made me tear up <3
A song I know has lyrics of:

You hold me without touch.
You keep me without chains.

I've never wanted anything so much
Than to drown in your love, but not feel your rain

The effects of an abusive relationship last long after they're gone.

You do what you need to do to restore your mental and emotional health. Taking a break from them doesn't mean forever - it might, but it's not certain. So, take all the time you need, and don't feel guilty for healing yourself away from them. It sounds like that's what's needed, for now at least. <3

Exactly. It's not forever. I'm just scared they might not take me back.

It's both - Get healthier, and also hopefully look better so I can catch up to these gym bunnies.

I know my focus is in the wrong place...only half of it though. That's better than all of it, right? (I already know your answer and it starts with an "N")

Also, I'm getting cabin fever, so if you are in a nice and dry place, just be warned I maybe visiting in the next few days.

Good to see you posting. I was thinking of you earlier today as I was seeing footage from Texas on the news.

I finally got my appetite back, so I was going to buy an MP3 player and go to the walking track like the doctor said, but my daily verse was "Physical exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things". So...

When people in my class ask me if I can communicate with them through this website, I think about some of my posts, like this one:

*panting and grinning*

Heh heh...eh heh heh...ha...ha...AHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Yes...OH YES!!!!!

It's now mine!!! ALL MINE!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!!

The thing that will finally make me the most noticed user in all of CC....

The thing that will be the latest thing here for many a year to come...

The thing that will be the center of so much controversy, so much debate and insanity, that the Not By Works thread wishes it was that intense and heated...

THE THING THAT WILL CHANGE THIS WEBSITE COMPLETELY!!!

*Pants some more* ...Huh? You still here, reading this, unwavered?! Wow. You have some guts...certainly more than I do...heh heh...

So...you want to see...this...thing? Well...here it is...

So...you mad yet?!
...And I'm just like: NOPE.

Two things that I have been hearing all day is really getting on my nerves:

1.) "Mayor Turner should have evacuated the city before the hurricane."-No, no he shouldn't have. The fact is, if you weren't here during Hurricane Rita, you might not know how many lives were lost because of the evacuation. People were stranded on highways in above 100 degree weather. And the reason was everyone in Houston was trying to get out after seeing what Hurricane Katrina did. Not only that, but the roads became dangerous as people who stalled on the roads got out of their cars. One person I know lost her daughter because she was hit by a car.

2. "Joel Osteen is a hypocrite because he doesn't open the doors for the flood victims."--If you are not from Houston or have ever been to Houston, more then likely you are not aware of his church's location. The fact is, his church is in the middle of one of the flood zones and more then likely people can't even get to his church. Now, this is not meaning it is flooded, but, the possibility is great.

So, I guess I want people to please be aware that there is more to some situations then meets the eye.

One thing I know about men. And I am totally hopeless regarding them. But you never find a man in a gym. Not that kind of man that puts God first and that would love you for the woman you are created by God to be. That man only God can give you. And if he is at the gym, he will love you sweaty.

Not all men who love to workout and are gym rats are shallow men. There are good godly men who love to train their body so they can perform at their best for whatever situation life will throw at them. And I don't think there is anything particularly wrong with wanting to look good either. Just don't be a narcissist about it and throw it in everyone's faces.

Second thought. Perhaps because when I am at the gym my focus is to train my muscels, I don't see all the men trying to put a ring om my finger. It might be because I left my glasses in the wardrobe.

violakat: Ah that would be nice... I don't think it'll happen though. People gonna keep spouting opinions, mostly the ones they heard other people spouting. (It makes them sound like they know what's going on, y'see.)

Bruce: Yeah, my pastor and his son go to the gym. Son is playing football, father is trying to lose some weight.

I feel like doing some ranting about my co"workers." I say co"workers" because some of them don't really work.

Maybe we need a rant thread.

That would currently be the Not By Works thread in the BDF.

There's a complaint thread ... "I really hate it when..."

Yeah, something tells me to stay away from that thread. Every time I look at the CC main page, Not By Works has taken up all the "recent posts" slots.

I started working out at home myself. It's easier to motivate myself when I'm already standing in my gym. And bodyweight training is plenty challenging and has progressive goals other than just adding weight. Plus, I don't have to worry about trying to stay on the treadmill with my eyes closed when some girl in yoga pants jumps on the elliptical in front of me.

Catch up with those gym bunnies? X eeeeeeeeeeee (buzzer sound) wrong. =P
Keeping in shape for health, good. Striving to be some "cute" skinny gym bunny, bad. Why not strive to be Rachel? That's what God made you to be and to try to be anything else is going against God's design. Going against God's design is going against your own life, purpose and meaning. Don't strive to be anyone else, or like anyone else. Strive to be who God created you to be. He did so with a purpose in mind. He didn't create you and say "oops, I messed up". He created you and said "perfect, beautiful, I love her!". Why would you ever want to live any differently than how God made you knowing how He felt when He did?
You're a little naive, personally I find that to be a good trait in a woman. Naievity often allows for a degree of innocence to be maintained. There are many out there that find that an endearing quality.
If youre a little heavier, so what? A lot of guys like women that aren't too skinny.
You have a lot of good qualities. The ones God gave you. Both inside and outside. Stop trying to mold them into something God never intended. That will only feed more unhappiness into you and your life as you resist God and His good work.
