OK, I'd look at it that way. There is a difference between
Reconciliation and
Forgiveness. It take ONE to reconcile because reconciliation is about restoring a broken thing. So I can decide to reconcile with someone else and it's up to him to choose if he wants to reconcile with me or not. BUT it takes TWO for forgiveness. Matthew 6: 14-15, Mark 11: 25-26, Luke 6: 37 all of these verses proves that we will Not be forgiven unless we forgive first. Or in other words, I will Not be given something that I cannot give.
The crucifixion of Jesus Christ was a Reconciliation between God and humanity. NOW, it's up to us to accept God's reconciliation and turn it into forgiveness by forgiving one another First so that God would forgive us our sins.
