That awkward moment when you're at an antique store and you decide to smell an old book (because you love the smell of old books) and you look up to see the store owner staring at you weirdly. It happened to me today! lol
Goodness! I would've thought the owner of an antique store should be used to book lovers smelling books.

That awkward moment when the waiter doesn't believe you just said that, and asks if that is correct three times.

I get it all the time. I drink a glass of water half an hour before meals and don't drink anything with meals (much more healthy) but it confuses waiters to no end. "Are you sure? Nothing?" And then when they bring the food, "Now you're sure you don't want anything to drink?"

If my uncle Fred is with us I just order a water (usually free) and give it to him. He drinks four or five glasses with any given meal and it avoids a lot of hassle.

The awkward moment when my step dad had my brother bring out a box that's been sitting in my parents' garage for ages, and the box has my husband's name on it (marked in my mom's handwriting), so I opened it to see if it was anything important or if it was stuff to store...

And it's actually my Ex-husband's stuff, but I have no idea why I would have had it in the first place, let alone why it was stored at my mom's house. For 12 years.

And then my husband looks at what's in the box, and I tell him who it belongs to, and he just shakes his head and says, "YOU married a guy who wore a cowboy hat and owned a fanny pack?"

To be fair, I didn't know about the fanny pack.

That awkward moment you're minding your own business, look up, and see someone just... looking at you.

Mel, if you weren't so doggone cute and charming, I wouldn't be looking at you with admiration all the time. ;)

(Obviously, I am somehow going to say it's your fault and NOT because I'm a creeper. After all, isn't that what every good creeper does?!)

That awkward moment when you want to pipe up that you have less than 10 pair of shoes, and would like to cull them down to like 7... but there are a few you use for work and can get gloppy, or for mowing the lawn, or dressing up and then your normal average shoes, athletic shoes... and realize you CAN'T.

An antiquarian of all people should know better. Old book smell is awesome.

Or maybe the antiquarian has been around them so much he can't smell it anymore.
So then it's normal for people to like the smell? My mom looks at me funny too. And I've liked smelling them from a very young age in elementary school. My friends would laugh but I didn't care! They just don't understand, huh? :p

OMG too funny!

Not all of us have that many pairs :), but some of us wait for a sale, coupon, and free shipping. ;) The last pair of shoes I bought was normally about $80 regularly but I got them for something like $25, including tax. Score!!

Yeah, I just went to Walmart and bought a 15 dollar pair. I don't get the hate for Walmart.. Yes, I like buying things at low prices and I am not ashamed to admit it.

Right. That part makes sense.

Uh... nope. Big difference there. Wal-Mart shoes are cheap because they are cheap. They fall apart in a couple of months with me and they feel TERRIBLE!

Now Rockports, when I could get them cheap... that's a different matter. There's a shoe store near here that sells Rockports for $12 to $25. Can't beat that. Before I went to strictly zero-drop shoes I got Rockports exclusively because they felt good and held together for years. In fact I still have a pair. I just don't wear them anymore because they're not zero-drop.

But getting good shoes on sale is nowhere near the same thing as getting Wal-Mart shoes cheap. Gonna have to disagree with you there bro.
