That awkward moment when you have been having an intense conversation with someone... then suddenly realize you two aren't even talking about the same thing.

Reminded me of that awkward moment when you wrap up a brilliant point to the person you're talking on the phone with...only to discover that you've been saying your five minute monologue to a dead line...

That awkward moment when, coming out of the store, you open the door and get in the wrong car because a similar car parked right beside yours.

True story!

That happened to me too! :D The only thing that gave it away was it had the car's name embroidered on the floor mats....

The weird thing is that I noticed that the fuel door was not completely closed so I tried to close it and noticed that the spring inside wasn't latched properly so I fixed it!! (It only took about 30 seconds)

But when you are at home thinking about it your heart skips a few beats when you suddenly become aware of the many ways in which this would have gone so wrong! The owner shows up and what do you say?

When it happened to me some years ago I had walked out of a store nursing a huge headache. my car had gone for a major service and my cousin had lent me her second car. I walked up to a car that looked like mine and put the key in the door and...it opened! (I don't think it was locked). I put my groceries on the passenger seat closed the door and then a few questions popped into my head:

1. Why am I having to adjust my seat?
2. Whats this maroon handkerchief doing on the dashboard?
3. What happened to my radio? What is this junk?
4. What the....? This is not my car?

I quickly exited the vehicle and tried to walk to my car in a calm manner. It was when I got home that I asked myself how would I have convincingly answered the owner if he or she found me in their car?

That awkward moment when you have a lot on your mind, but someone with a thick foreign accent is around and speaking and you subconsciously start mimicking them aloud while you are busy doing your own thing and don't stop until you realize your mom is staring at you really hard.

How many times do you go into the kitchen and see something left on the side,
waiting to be finished off, ie eaten?

Just as you swallow the last chunk in comes the wife, looks around for something
and asks you if you have seen the very thing you just ate. Oh!!!!

I've actually heard a story in the news once where a person got in the wrong car because their key worked in the same model and color of car as theirs in a parking lot and the owner actually drove it home! The the other owner reported it stolen but it all worked out in the end. I'll have to try and find that story, but it was in the 90's so it might not be online.

Here I think this is it! Apparently they were different colors but the guy didn't notice. Maybe it happened at night?

I was at Wendy's the other day and I hand over the money - the girl at the window said, "Oh, it was 5 something, etc." ... I said, "I gave you 6." ... she re-counts ... "Oh, I'm so sorry!" lol I see her ask another worker hand me my food and change. I guess she was embarrassed. Awkward for her. :p
