I don't think I've spent this much time in the Bible Discussion forum in all the time I've been on CC combined.

Obviously, Catherder brings out the worst in all of us.

His idea was brilliant. Lunacy in the posts is a great way to have unity in spirit.

I enjoy wine, long walks on the beach, speed poodle shaving, bas.......is this the singles....

wait, apparently I've stumbled onto the wrong thread? I'm sorry,
Catherder obviously reserved this one for in depth discussion on the deeper issues of the Bible?
I apologize again.;)

Awesome idea by the way CH.

So... the idea of this thread is to encourage us to troll others? Hmm... think i'll skip that. There's enough trolling on this site without having to encourage regulars to do it too.

Hey can we give out dares and nominate people to do them?

I think it will add to the fun. :D

Says the person who wants to tell us all what we can and cannot post, along with where to post it, and how long the post is allowed to be.

Gee, that's not trolling... at all.

To be fair, the OP did say it was meant as a joke...

I don't really see any of the "dares" as being that bad though...silly? Absolutely. Hurting anyone? Nah.
...of course we all respect anyone's choice to avoid this silliness :)

I'm sorry I'm in a blunt mood today but I will only bite my tongue for so long.

I personally think Wise and Ugly should have their own part of the forum, all to themselves, so that they can police each other and not everyone else. I've seen a lot of people in this forum go out of their way to be kind and considerate to both of them, but I rarely see it ever returned.

Therefore, I think they should be able to just sit in a separate part of the forum and be able to bark rules and regulations at each other.

How about you give out the dares with permission from the OP; then nobody complies except for JesusLives and Blue, and Lynx can ban each one of us in the Banned Thread for noncompliance? :p

I also wanted to say that I am not just picking on people here--I have repeatedly made efforts to try to show kindness to others who seem more concerned about where in the forum a person is posting rather than actually responding to the concern the poster has written in the first place (especially new users.)

I read their criticisms and think, "Well, they've probably just had really hard lives... Maybe if we all try to encourage them, it will help..." and so, I've tried to give them positive feedback, likes, rep points with comments (I always sign my name when I give rep), but I get frustrated when all I see are cut-downs of everyone else around them. I've noticed, however, that when some of these very same people, who criticize everyone else about anything and everything, have a need in their life, they don't hesitate to ask for prayer for themselves, but yet rarely show even an ounce of compassion for anyone else. They will then say something that they are just being blunt and honest and "telling people like it is"--well today, I'm going to take advantage of my right to call things as I see them as well.

I have been wanting to say something for a very long time but just held it all in. Not that it will matter, as I'm pretty sure I've been on Ugly's ignore list for some time now (truthfully, it almost feels more like a badge of honor.) I remember once when he wrote a criticism in one of my threads (which is fine) but even said he hadn't bothered reading the original post (please read what I have to say before you cut me down, that's all I ask, thank you.)

Anyone who knows anything about Catherder or has read any of his posts knows that he's a stellar person, lots of fun, and very grounded in his faith. If you don't know that about him, you haven't been reading his posts, and I humbly suggest that you do before cutting him down.

I get really, really upset when I see good people who make earnest efforts to add positive things to the thread get ripped to shreds by people who contribute little else but bitterness, made-up rules, and put-downs of everyone else.

Normally, I just hold it in, hold it in... don't say anything, Kim, be polite, give the good Christian answer. But today I'm choosing to say something. And will probably do so even more in the future.

Just one more thing: BananaPie and Oncefallen, you are awesome beyond mere words for participating in the fun with us.

God bless you both for having a sense of humor (and generous amount of patience.)
