Well, if someone is using you, even unintentionally, it's hard to qualify that as a real relationship.

Well, since it only shows this name as a day old i can't really speak to any previous friendship we had without knowing who you are.
Meh, people use me, I use them. Bible says the wife uses the husbands, the husband uses the wife. I think mutual use is all right. I don't mind being used, even despitefully used.

Heheheheheh I never considered you previous. This name is ancient and immortal if you will learn its meaning.

I've never used a dating site. If I did though I would make myself sound as
boring, ugly and poor as possibly (sorry ugly :p).

Then if someone was interested at least I would know they didn't want me just for my
body or money!
They'll all be after you for your good humor anyways Miri, no need to deceive em lol.

Incorrect, the bible says to sacrifice for one another.

Well, i'm not a homosexual, i know that much.
And if we were friends you'd know i'm not a fan of these sorts of guessing games.

Lol I didn't mean nothing like that!

Never said you had to guess. In fact I would prefer you didn't, but I won't stop you if you really must.

As for the Bible:

1 Corinthians 7:3-4

[SUP]3 [/SUP]Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.

I'd never believe you to be stupid Miri, no way would I believe that. Though I do understand how people think that. People have called me a fool too, even right on this site, and yet my IQ is over 140. Though of course I don't necessarily take that as an insult either.

Lol as for your peculiar looks and talents, sounds like a good personal ad right there lol.

I Corinthians 7:5-6

[SUP]5 [/SUP]Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. [SUP]6 [/SUP]I say this as a concession, not as a command.

It's not to 'use' one another, but to come together often to prevent problems within the marriage and temptations outside the marriage.

Heh all right, but I demand all of you which read this must be clement with me, though I will allow any number of jests at my expense for this. I'll share two examples which struck me for their differences. One was a Christian, even a regular church attender, she was actually my highest match in my 25 mile area, about 95% and also with small percentage of "Enemy" at about 5%. No tattoos, glasses, okay looking redhead. A lil feministy, lol she described herself as "Everyone compliments me saying I'm like Tina Fey."

The other one was definitely not Christian, very hostile to Christianity in fact, an admitted neopagan, into tarot, into witchcraft, very artsy fartsy, a poetess even. Tattooed, pretty blonde girl, a virgin, on the sex subject questions very much kinda shy like me and desiring of monogamy. Very interested in the same intellectual pursuits as myself. She matched pretty high with me also, about 86% but about 20% Enemy due to our fundamental religious differences.

Both were about my age, the Christian one was one year older than me, the neopagan was two years younger than me.

The Christian one out of the blue a hit me up and she was just after me from the get go. She was very interested in the fact that I am a virgin at my age. Flirting like pretty dang boldly, like in a way I cannot even fully repeat here. Let me put it this best way I can, she was uh how we shall say very tempting me openly calling me hot and talking about her body saying she was wearing nothing and what she wants me to do with her. She was the Christian one too mind you. She had five kids though, and that was the big turn off. I tried to deflect that I being a virgin am probably more like her kids in mentality than a proper husband. She proposed simply being "friends with benefits" without me need worrying about none of the marriage stuff. Insisting she was quite well off and able to care for herself financially. She was definitely pretty funny, her sense of humor was our biggest affiliation. I loved her sense of humor, but I resisted all her advances and she gave up saying she didn't mean to offend me, that her offers still stand and that she simply thought I deserved to be flirted with perceiving I had not been flirted with as such, and she was actually pretty right about that.

The neopagan lady I noticed looked around at me, but didn't speak with me so I initiated contact with her and sent her a message just to say hi. I actually ended up getting along with her quite well despite my preconceptions about her. We never talked about sex or anything even close to that topic. We both shared poetry with each other quite a bit and she esteemed me a great poet as I also esteemed her. We talked regularly for about two months. A very romantique soul whom I have to say I felt quite attracted to her. Very well read and into the same sort of books I was too. Similar tastes in music also, in fact she showed me my new favorite pop singer Melanie Martinez. Though when she brought up American horror romanticism, particularly Herman Melville, I brought up the Bible and recommended that she should read it even if she doesn't believe in it just for the sake of its sheer influence on literature such as with Melville's famed tale. She just stopped talking to me totally for that.

Those two I talked to the most. I tried talking to some of the other ladies but they just stop talking after one or two messages, never clicked like the others so I just deleted my account. Thus ended my OKCupid Saga.

Well! Yes, that was a saga.

Possibly. If they won't open up a bit after a couple of exchanges, then it's probably time to move on.

I've gotten to this topic right away with women as well. However, I have always been direct and upfront that I am a male that has - and is - waiting until marriage for sex.

Long distance is very hard to do. There has to be good communication to hold it together. Also, one person has to be open to relocating. If neither person is open to that at the start, there is a good chance of the relationship ending in heartbreak and misery.

Write a profile that explains/describes your interests/beliefs/positions, what you're looking for in a mate, and what you have to offer.

I did that here on CC(which is not, as many will remind us, a dating website). A gal on here took interest in my "profile write-up" and decided to strike a conversation with me. That was in April 2015.

She graduated from college in December 2016 and is about to train for a job that will have her where I live(ND) in March/April. She has been on the West Coast.

God bless you both! Hope it works out for you two, how exciting.

Yeah, I do disengage and move on when the conversation falls flat...just as I would offline.
my profile is all filled out, with my beliefs, interests, recent pictures and sense of humor up front, and all that jazz, so it's just been a filtering process so far. No sweat if it doesn't work out this way, maybe it'll happen differently for me. Or never happen again (jk. Kind of)

sense of humor Good. I hope you avoided writing "I love to laugh". That's what I often read in women's profiles, and it doesn't tell men squat. Explaining one's humor is far more helpful.

so it's just been a filtering process so far Explaining what I have to offer, what I want in a mate, and being blunt were all to my benefit, in my opinion. It actually made my profile rather lengthy, which also became good filter, as it drove off lazy readers.

While I usually go into all the negative experiences I've had when talking about dating sites, there have been a few positives as well, such as, meeting a variety of people and learning about their cultures and lives.

Several years ago I met a guy on one of the Christian dating sites who lived in another country. His first language was not English, but he spoke English fluently and was very patient with the fact that there were many terms and references I didn't understand in his native language, and might not have an easy translation to English. We became friends and have stayed so even to this day.

He eventually did meet someone and got married, but he and his wife have invited me several times to visit. Maybe someday I will.

Another gentlemen I met on the dating sites was deaf, and he sent me links to some videos about what his daily life was like, including using the phone, seeing as this was before cell phones had become a physical part of most people's bodies. (Wow, have I really been in the dating game that long?)

One of the things he asked me was how well I learn languages, and if I would learn ASL (American Sign Language) in order to communicate with him if we started dating.

And I will never forget that, because it made me think a lot about how we might meet someone whose life is a bit different than our own, and what kinds of adjustments we might have to make if they were the right person.

Best wishes to you, Hellooo--may you have a safe, and fun, adventure. :)

I think my intent for the thread might have been misinterpreted...it's kind of you to offer your advice, however, i was just interested in seeing what everyone else's experiences have been. It's great you've met someone off CC, though :)

CC definitely isn't set up as a dating website.

I made it plain in my profile on here, though, that I was single and available.

It has worked better than the pay-for dating websites.

My phone screen broke right in half the other day, not badly, just side-to-side in one line where the belt would be on the little Dwayna statue I have on my phone wallpaper. Funny, I had just broken my belt a day or so prior.

After that I went for a walk - the first clock I saw read 3:33 on a digital display diamond...

A call for patience, I suppose. I'm cut off.
